Running long (Road & Trail) 1:43:53 [1] 11.73 mi (8:51 / mi) +282ft 8:40 / mi
shoes: Nike Zoom Streak LT 2

Mostly roads and some old railroad tracks (1.6 mi) in NH while visiting Amy, John & Family and Fiona, Justin & Little Betelgeuse. New shoes, Nike Zoom Streak LT 2, liquidation at http://runningwarehouse.com/. I like the shoes so far, and the run was pretty good too, if a bit too much road -- probably just the difference between that and the awesomeness of the railroad tracks. Good to get out on an actual 'long' run! Lots of fun here in NH.

Oops, muffed the HR monitor. Bah.

Fast pace on this Crum Long Lap with new shoes (NB MT10 v2 Minimus).

Didn't run yesterday, probably won't run tomorrow, so needed to get something done today. New shoes came just in time to motivate me to try them out hard on the Crum Long Lap.

The new shoes might be a stretch for the trail marathon, but I'm going to train in them and see how it goes ... definitely on the 'thin' side (my feet got a bit beat up, which is unusual for me), but they should add some strength over time if I can avoid injury (physical bruising most likely).

Initial impression of the NB MT10v2 shoes: they make me want to go fast. Which may-or-may-not be a good thing at this point in my training. I experienced a bit of downhill-toe-slipping into the nice big toe box at the outset, which worried me, but it either stopped bothering me, or somehow my feet stopped slipping. First run rating: 4 of 5 stars, definitely exceeded my expectations, especially for $80. Of course they were liquidation shoes, so I'd better order more very, very soon if I like them.

Got into a nice duel with two mountain bikers on a rooty section ... I beat them through the roots for about 200m, and really enjoyed pushing myself a bit.

Another pair of new shoes too ... I'll be unveiling those in the next couple of days from New Hampshire.
