4 laps around the big field

Worked on cleaning up the trail I cut yesterday, which was fun. Got faster each lap, so my 'grooming' was working out pretty good. Deep stuff! My skis are crap from the early 70's and boots are from the late 80s and falling apart. Wish I had new stuff, but I know if I buy new gear it will never snow again. :) I've only actually skied a few times since the 80s so definitely not worth an investment, and still fun!

Skiing 1:09:12 [3] 2.75 mi (25:10 / mi)

Another big snow (28" listed? I think it was less, but it was awesome), so broke out the skis again. Down to Bartram's Garden, around the field, and back. Soo fun, the looks and comments of people in my hood. Forgot my HR monitor.

Definitely something wrong (probably with me?) with Garmin direct upload. I was careful to run in zone 2 (on my watch, on AttackPoint, on SportTracks), so it looks like it's off by one zone? Hmm.

Running intervals (5x440s) 19:51 intensity: (2 @2) + (8:39 @3) + (5:41 @4) + (5:29 @5) 2.45 mi (8:06 / mi)

Really just went down to say hi to the Penn Running Club and find out what lane (it's lane 5) is the 1/4 mile (NOT 400m!) lane.

So while I was there did a few 440s, fairly slowly. It was just the perfectly wrong temp, started out w/o windsuit and was too cold, put on the top was too hot, wrists still too cold. Plus the lacrosse players nearly missing me with lacrosse balls several times had me spooked. :)

Fumbled the lap button a few times too ... is it me or is the lap button on the 305 just a bit too 'slow' to beep? I kept thinking I'd missed it, and pressed it twice at least once. FUN GPS track ... shockingly accurate.

Something's odd with the HR/intensity upload direct from the Garmin ... I've got it all lined up (zones on the Garmin & AttackPoint, & SportTracks for good measure) ... and the Garmin upload isn't lining up right. I don't feel like playing tonight though. :)

edit: I figured out the problem ... the 305 adds the HR Zone to the data at runtime, NOT at upload time. So should be good to go in the future.

I shifted all of my HR zones because my max HR (measured) seems to be 184, not 178 (calculated). That FEELS right too, at 138 HR instead of 134 ... a surprising difference.

Running (Level 8 Classic Hills) 40:10 intensity: (23 @0) + (3 @1) + (10 @2) + (3:50 @3) + (15:15 @4) + (20:29 @5) 5.02 mi (8:00 / mi) +1312ft 6:25 / mi

Well, got to the gym at least for a bit today, pleasantly surprisingly low weight, muscles must have atrophied over the course of the week. :) Started off slow, but couldn't help but speed up to too fast. Who knew I could hit 184 HR? I thought my max was supposed to be 177. Nearing the < 200 resting HR + weight goal already at 204.2. Nice!

My HR was off (high, like usual) for the first 7 or 8 minutes ... extrapolatable though.

I love the Garmin input Ken, if you're listening! Super cool graphing, you can really see what was going on on the treadmill ... incline spikes, then my slowdown/cooldown, then speedup to a silly conclusion. Forgot to take the right splits though ... it's easy to get spoiled with the GPS!
