Running 35:42 [1] 3.54 mi (10:05 / mi) +505ft 8:53 / mi
shoes: Inov-8 Trailroc 245 (1st pair)

Surprisingly warm day. More shoe adjustments (looser is better) + LiveTrack testing (love that) + making sure the Camelbak still works (it does) + dimethicone cream test (slippery).

Summer Trail Shoe Purchase & Review Update

I really liked the new shoes I bought this summer (New Balance MT10v2 Minimus & Nike Zoom Streak LT2). They both performed superbly, and were incredibly light and comfortable. Fit for my foot was perfect with both.

Unfortunately, I just sent both new pairs back to runningwarehouse.com for refund after neither pair managed to get me over 50 miles without starting to fall apart.

The sole from the upper for the NBs, and the middle layer (the white bit) decomposing (or something) and allowing the bottom layer (the black bit) to 'pull' the white layer apart on the Nikes. Wow. While I'm not easy on shoes, I've got hundreds of miles on all of my other shoes with no issues. I suppose it's an issue of 'get what you pay for'.

So: cheap shoe fail. Happily, the runningwarehouse.com 90-day-return policy is awesome. Stuffed the shoes into a box, free return, got a store credit 'gift card', ordered a pair of new Inov-8 Trailroc 245s, should be here by Friday at the latest. I predict satisfaction with this purchase, but I'll review.

Wissahickon 4-Corners run with some Wanderers. I wasn't quite ready for this, and should have done 16 ... but I wanted to join the elite club of 4-Corners finishers. :)

Too fast. Too fast. Too fast (relatively). But if I fell back I would have gotten lost. Good fun till the last 3 miles.

ahr:149 max:179 shoes: Inov-8 Mudroc 290

Wow, what a gorgeous day! Time for some more hills. :)

Did the Crum Double-Ended Loop correctly this time (twice), so a new route! Huzzah! I think it's actually 8.0 miles. Need to wheel the end loops, but I think they're 0.5 & 0.6, so additional 2.2 for the 2 laps.

Pushed it a bit, looking for solid up hills and steady pace.

Ran into anniemac! Way to get out there, good to seeya.

Rib said "no Double Trouble". Calendar said "Megatransect looms".

So I met up with the Wiss Wanderers, who were going for a 4-Corners run ... my heart said "I want to run all day!", but my rib said "running might be bad for me", so I said hello to the gang and then did a few Valley Green Inn hills (about 5.5% grade on that) by myself. LOTS of people, dogs, bikes on the trail. It was fun. My legs and mind felt very strong, my rib still says "I'm either still sore or injured" ... I'm going to take the chance and start to train again lightly.
