Oops, forgot to stop my watch. Luckily I took pics of the results! :)

9 AM

Running race (Half-Wit Half) 2:07:56 [3] 13.11 mi (9:45 / mi) +2293ft 8:22 / mi
shoes: Nike Zoom Streak LT 2

Half-Wit Trail Half. 35th of 309 finishers. Could have easily (well, with a huge push!) gotten 34th, but the guy deserved the win for a much better pace plan and effort than I showed. :)

Nice day, about as nice as you can ask for in August, which helped.

I totally misled myself on the climb in my prep, having searched and found a 'route' on Map My Run, or some such site, which put it at 254m. Nearly triple that! Maybe an upload feet>m issue. Still only 3.3% climb, but it sure felt like ... more. Threw off my estimates, for the worse, which was tough psychologically.

Rocky as heck, bonked my knee on a road guard rail (that I was trying to spring over ... hah!), had a couple of good duels, some crazy downhills, and a good number of brutal ups. Aside from the rocks, that is really some incredible terrain. Great job Ron Horn and the Pretzel City Sports team, as usual!

Many, many nice people met, high-fived, groaned with, etc. Trail runners are a good bunch.

Good training!
