Orienteering race 1:24:42 [5] 11.8 km (7:11 / km) +405m 6:08 / km
spiked:23/29c shoes: VJ's

Having run the 2.8km to the start in order to get there on time I arrived with approximately 30sec before I was called up - not ideal - especially as I hadn't even taped my laces, but what else are you going to do in the 4 mins call up. Anyhow, race went ok, with a few mistakes, one was reading the wrong number on the control descriptions - fool - the others were navigational. Unfortunately lost confidence a bit after the control description incident so started to hesitate a lot more and other mistakes crept in. Once out of the complex part started to pick up again. On the whole not happy or disapointed with the run.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3] 2.8 km (7:09 / km)

Run to the start - once again working on stampy time so no time for streching before the race.

Event: JK 2008

Orienteering race (Sprint) 18:09 [5] 2.6 km (6:59 / km)
shoes: Asics

First time ever on a sprint course. Great fun, but a lot to learn about it - mainly, don't think you have found the short route - you haven't, it's a dead end! I didn't know what to expect really, but found the map really hard to read, the scale confusing, got caught out on the descriptions and made a couple of mistakes as well. Good first lesson! It felt like 18 mins of panic and fear wrapped up in a cross country race. Looking forward to the next one.

Running (Bleep test) 14:00 [5]
shoes: Asics

Ahh, just what you need after a half marathon.
Still I went along full of beans and going to give it mybest shot. Pleasantly surprised for the second time this week as I managed to get a pb of 13.9 on the test. Was feeling pretty strong until level 13 came along, then I think a bit of sundays run kicked in and the legs had nothing further to give. Still can't grumble.

Running 39:56 [3]
shoes: Asics

Run home, through shugborough gt haywood and back. Went the wrong way at shugborough and nearly ended up in the main house. Took it nice and easy. The boiler has now been fixed after nearly a week of no hot water so looking forward to a hot bath. Result.

Running race (Stafford Half) 1:25:59 [5] 13.1 mi (6:34 / mi)
shoes: Asics

Started in the middle so took the first couple of miles to get running, dodging people dressed as fred flintostone and all that! Felt good the whole way until about 11 miles, then things started to hurt. Was running with an old fellow at this point and didn't want him to get away so just ran through it. Very pleased with the time, at the start I was hoping to get 90mins, but wasn't really expecting to be able to. Have done nothing but eat and sleep since.
