Qualification race for Finnish Middle distance Champs at Ikaalinen. H40. I made it to A final so mission accomplished. I was not really sure if I can make it, but did it, so really happy face. I ran most of the course hand brake on. Not because I wanted to save energy, but just simply stay on the map. One mistake, because I did not see forest line that I was counting on. Maybe a minute mostly standing still.

A Final. Really challenging and demanding terrain. Not easy to run and even more difficult to orienteer. That was cool. From my perspective I made a wrong route choice to first cp. Should have taken path on the left side to make it easy. Still navigated well all the way to the circle, but not all the way to the control point. After a moment I stopped and reran the leg in my mind and then I noticed it. Not optimal to start with a mistake. On the fifth I made another mistake or at least lost time, because I was not fully sure about my position for a moment. Rest of the course went ok, but it was not fluent. A lot of stops and I fell down several times.

So I could have done several things better. Something to improve on coming years. Overall I'm still satisfied with the results. A lot of positive things there.

Särkänniemi-suunnistus (sprint) at Särkänniemi amusement park. After guiding kids ran my own race. Some stops and one not optimal route choice. Otherwise ok run. I was more enjoying to run in this park than racing. Fun it was and result is good.

Jenni won her class and Nella succeeded to get result on her first normal orienteering race.

Mestari luopuu kruunustaan. Terveisin hallitseva H21 sarjan erikoispitkän mestari! Pitääkö paikkansa, että tuon jälkeen ei ole juostu erikoispitkää? Vai pitäskö lähteä mukaan kuitenkin ja pääsarjaan. Matkakin on puolet lyhyempi ku viimex ja sama nelikymppisissäkin.

Low tempo street and trail running in Savonlinna. Legs are really tired. Actually not just the legs. I haven't slept enough lately. Really early wake up this morning did not help. Lovely weather for running.
