HU training at Tervahaudanmäki (I thought it supposed to be other map). Terrain is not that great. Made route choises to avoid worst parts and succeeded quite well. Partly excellent oing. Sometimes I forgot to navigate. Only one miss. Otherwise straight to control points. Two control points I found just with good luck. On the other one of them I was thinking to start to create strategy how to take the control. Before having any I saw a flag in front of me and saw that it is mine :). Why it is not always like that?

Warm up to ferry. Accidently turned of GPS. Therefore training splitted in to two.

Orienteering 1:26:00 [3] *** 12.0 km (7:10 / km)

Took a ferry to Fano island and first ran an own course at dunes. Truly great one. Forest area was nicer than expected. Map is defenetely worthwhile of a second visit, (if I survive from a tick that got in to me).

Nordby Kikkebjerg



Then a bit sprint at Nordby map. In the beginning had difficulties with small alleys. They look liked that I was going to someones yard. Had to stop couple of time to check that can I go on or not. Great place for sprint race. While waiting ferry to take me back to Esbjerg continued sprinting and also ran a while by the beach.

No Oing today since It's was Speedway for a long time. Danish league race Esbjerg - Holsted. Home team won 43-41. I love this sport.

Today I visited two maps Ål Øst and Vrøgum Øst. Not the experience of a lifetime, but still a lot of fun including nice weather. Green was again green and in most of the places it ment no trespassing. Skipped couple of controls because of that. First map was a bit outdated. Some of the white areas were not that white anymore. Forestry had left its mark to second map also, but otherwise green/white were more precise. Cool.

First ever Orienteering training in Denmark. Yes, I have never been in Spring cup or in any training camp until now. If you are in need for an instant orienteering training in Denmark visit this site. I also contacted local club for trainings. There will be one on Wednesday and they also pointed this find vej site. This one was not really tricky course, but it was close to hotel and therefore easy to access. Still I enjoyd a lot. Different type of terrain makes it always more fun. Green areas were green so I did not go there. Fences before 16 would be nice in sprints. Terrain close to 17 and 18 was really nice. Open forest, no undergrowth and beautiful sunset. Could not get better. I had also all controls map with me. Also looked at it while running and picked some extra controls.
