I drove to Jämsä to run a course at weekly event organized by JRV. Model map for Jukola. Light legs (tossu oli ja olis ollu vielä enemmänkin syönnillään). Mapper is the same than in Jukola. Fine for me, like the style. Course setter hopefully not the same. Terrain itself was a bit too simple. I guess it is more like the one I ran last year. It was raining then and also today. Dark clouds came closer and closer and just before Jämsä rain started and the heat was gone. Music selection for this year's driving was Offspring. What comes to navigating I made only one mistake or two since I punched twice on fifth control. The first one came when I saw Mersu at forest (I had Hirppa's camera with me. If I pushed correct buttons there might be some evidence available later on.). I lost the focus for a moment and also cliffs and hillside was not exactly what I was expecting based on the map. Boom. Otherwise solid run. Keep this and the legs. Last year I had best performance week before Jukola and At Jukola I was dead already. Any hints how to keep it for a week and improve.

Middle distance district champs in Nastola by Terä. H35. Could not utilise all running capacity in the beginning. I had to take more time to map reading. No major mistakes. So it was a good race for me. Map was not the most accurate in some areas. Especially around the third control. Quite ok terrain.

Ideally I was thinking that this is a rest day, but it took +2 hours to roll the string to forest (with help of Niina) and put the flags for normal course and TR course. In between tasty burger at Hese and training itself and then almost 2 hours to get flags and string out from forest. Lot of walking and bit of running. Still fun.
