Finnish Ultra long champs in Anttola. DNF. Savolainen supersankari jälleen liikkeellä. Vituix män. K pisteelle juostessa huomasin, että peli on pelattu - Game over. Jalat aivan tyhjät. Ajattelin, että ihme vois tapahtua ja juoksu alkaa kulkea myöhemmin. Ei alkanu. Kävelin ykköselle melkein suunnistaen. Kakkoselle laitoin jo juoksuksi ja vähensin suunnistusta. Virhehän se siinä sitten ja kolmoselle puolittaisella suunnistuksella naurettava samaistusvirheen puolikas ja kukkuluuruu. Sen jälkeen sain suunnistuksesta kiinni, tosin välit ja pisteet eivät kovin vaativia olleet. Metsässä pystyin käveleen ja poluilla juoksee. Rasti 16 mennessä veto loppu polullakin ja reitti tarjosi kätevän oikotien maalin. En empiny käyttää sitä. Ei ees harmittanu ja hymy levis korviin, kun kävin kattoo Allun ja Lotan tulokset. Kovat suoritukset.

Running and bit of navigating in Örnsköldsvik. Really nice place for running and oing. I really enjoyd. Route and couple of photos (like this). Without help of GPS I would challenge you photo O. The map I used can be seen below. It was really a dog weather today. Cold and rainy.

HU training at Tiirismaa. Running has not felt this light and easy for decades. I did not have to concentrate running at all, just let it go and enjoyed. Cool. Navigating was a bit lazy and late especially towards to end.

Forest/trails including hills. Idea (if there was any) was to find the pace for next weekend's ultra long champs. I'm expecting tilt, full tilt and lot of cramps before tilt. Today it was quite nice to run.

[edit] In laaso there was some snow left. It was the funniest part of the route to run down the hill partly in snow. And it was the easiest one also.

Prisma Rastit in Lohja. Class H35. Nice middle distance competetion though I was expecting a bit better terrain. Quite ok race. First competition so improvements can be expected in all areas.

Three first cps as planned. On fourth I misschecked the control code and went to another stone before rechecking the code to see that I was in right spot in the first place. 5 and 6 nice although close to control playing extra safe. 7, 8 and 9 as planned. To 11 plan was increase the tempo, but instead I ran out of energy and remaining course was more like survival. Mistake at eleven. I was going nicely, but saw another flag and had to check it before taking my own. 12, 13, 14 quite ok, but I did not plan much, just tried to go on. To 15 plan was to take trail on north side, but ended up to go more straight and lost a minute to best one. Though no mistake. Eyes closed towards to 16. A bit sightseeing there. All in all quite good start for season. Physically it could have been much better.

Yökuppi in Orimattila, Pariisi. Mass start. A lot of good things happened during the night. Running is getting easier and navigating was mainly good and easy too.

On the way to the first control point I had difficulties to locate myself until I met the road, then it was perfect. Second was really good one. People were already so spread in to forest that it was possible to do on your own. Got little help on the control from ligths leaving the control. Third cp again great. Slight hesitations in the green, but directly to the right point. Friends behind searched a second or two longer. For a second I was totally alone, but then Allu came from totally different angle. On the way to fourth I lost the focus a bit. Reasons: Allu was running around without ligth and I was also thinking that couple of guys are infront, but I'm in the lead of the main group or ahead of the main group. Result was a mistake on fourth, but after stopping I easily located myself and found the control. I think I lost a minute there. Now there was a lot of runners together again. Control number 5 was bad one. I was more looking that what others are doing than orienteering and made mistake together with other runners. A minute again. 6, 7, 8 nice ones. Together with the group. Couple times checked if I could run faster. It was easy to speed up. Light legs, but in the end got stomach ache. Like a ball in the stomach. Not the nicest feeling. To control number nine I made a decision to make own running and left from the 8 to bit other direction than others. Plan was to find the trail on north side of two yellow swamps and I thought I did so. I could not find the trail on the north side of the swamp and now when looking the track it is quite obvious. I went in between the swamps. Did not know by then. A lot of hesitations, but decided to trust to compas and hoping to relocate closer to control. A surprise was that a train of lights were coming from left to right just before the 9th cp. Same fellows that I've seen at eight. Time loss was minimal compared that I was thinking. Maybe a minute again. 10 and 11 were stupid cps from course setters. Together with others I was following the field line, which should result as DSQ.
