Kainuun Rastiviikko (O week) Day 1. DSQ. I love this sport. Didn't see this coming. Somehow at 9 I started to read leg 10-11 and even nothing was ok alarm bells were nothing ringing enough and I just continued. Heh. Easy to see afterwards how stupid it was. Now I just enjoy the lovely Tipasoja terrain on remaining races.

Middle distance Finnish Champs at Mustavaara. Qualification race. Different type of terrain that I'm use to run. I had difficult times on qual race. Without the second last cp and actually without fourth it was ok or very good run and I made it to A final.

A Final. In the beginning I had difficulties to keep the touch with map and terrain. Several surprises, but I managed quite ok. Then at 4 huge mistake. Game was over and it was easier to enjoy the remaining race. Good course and nice different type of terrain.

Jukola Relay at Kangasala. Second leg on our fourth team. I think we exceeded all the expectations on every leg and ended up to superb 174th place. Super happy. I was thinking that, if we are running good we'll be around 300. I didn't start well. I took a safe route choice to first, but didn't navigate well / at all while approaching to the control point. Missed it and visited wrong forking. About 2 and half min mistake on first cp. Not a nice start. Again a very safe route choice to second cp using path and hill top. Not very secure on green and slight panic thinking that do I miss this one also. Found it straight and started to get confidence back. Another miss at 7, but then I got the flow. Control point 9 was a game changer. I heard guys yelling codes and they all had different control point. I took time to make a plan and executed it well. I got a feeling that "I know this sport" and I did a good run on remaining part of the leg.

Our first teams did very well too. In Venla relay 10th and Jukola 21st. Best result for a long time.

In the beginning with Nella and then trying find guys to follow, but couldn't find them. Clock didn't want to co-operate and didn't start recording or even the menu for selecting the training type. Soft reset didn't help. Connection to Polar flow after the training helped and I could record afternoon training.

Difficult courses in partly shitty terrain.

Running with first with Helmiina, followed by Timo and last legs with Sakari asking what is their plan, what kind of they want to see and then also explaining my points. With Timo we reran one leg in which we drifted a bit to right and missed control point by 50 meters. Mistake was small since we turned around from stopper we had identified on the start of this leg, but it was easier to show and explain my notes during we reran the leg.

Afterwards I ran part of the contour training to see how older juniors are doing.
