Note

Thanks UG for being in Iceland. I got country # 43 to visit my log. If I'm allowed to count Europe as one and "-" as one as well. I've done some of those by myself like Slovenia, but Sulttaani I can thank for some unusual ones, even he is not in Iceland at the moment.

Another set of nice sprint intervals in the city of Graz. I liked a lot! Being in the heart of the city some places were quite crowded at this time of day so I had slow down and walk in some places and in some places had to slow down to find right alley. Tricky and Cool.

Running to University of Graz and then I ran two sprint courses. The latter (plus some more for future trainings) I got from Chris. Cool. Enjoyed a lot. Some construction work going on dis-allowed me to access 19 on second and made a change on route plan to first control point. In case someone is wondering. I did not step on the grass in some places and also did not step on the area supposed be more or less grass, but was not mowed. The area from 15-18 was very exiting. Had to spend a moment to think over on which level things are and how to access. Awesome.

Finnish Night Orienteering Championship. H40. Physically poor day or beginning was quite ok, but when road running started I had no energy to push hard. Mistakes at 2 and 9 were also not what I was expecting. Though the rest of the course went nicely. Also the trickiest ones.

District sprint champs at Myrskylä. Nice sprint race. I had difficulties to read the map in the beginning. Already to find K point was a challenge. Wrong route choice to second and on top of that extra fence and feeling not quit on the map made me stop. after a thinking break I was sure that I can go on and found the cp. Wrong direction towards to third made me zig zag to find the gate. Maybe I should have gone round at that point. on the way to fourth last building on wrong side (why on earth I did that). Extra distance that. 5, 6 and 7 ok. Maybe to seven right might have been better. on 8 I did not read enough and got in to troubles in the mid of the leg. Shame on me. 9-15 good. On 16 I did not see that that there is open area on the east side. Thought it was closed all over. Now I might have taken north side to 16 and western route to 17. From seventeen to finish it good again (even though I lost the chance to win on 19. 12 secs slower!).

Finnish long distance champ final. Good race. I started well and tried to push hard that Tomi would not see me (started 2 min after me). I was a bit surprised that he caught me up on the way fourth control point. Then we ran together all the way to the finish. Somewhere in the mid of the course a guy who had started two min before me joined our train. I did my own work all the way, but clearly got benefit of having company on the most difficult areas.
