This great map and terrain earned another visit and still earns several visits. Slight difficulties in the beginning and missed the fifth completely. Working on routines. Plan the route, pick the main features that I want to see on the leg and then while running look for additional features (both ways: terrain - map and map - terrain) to be sure that direction is correct. I took some control points from 2012 Finnish middle distance champs.

Orienteering on Ukonvuori map at Joroinen. Race from 2013. Partly excellent terrain. Somewhat similar to Hälvälä. Map is brilliant (Silvennoinen). A lot forestry going on so white and greens are not correct. Training focus on navigation.

My son woke me up at 6 am. He fell asleep again, but I did not. So it was early wake up on Saturday morning. After peaceful and long breakfast I was already at 8 am running. First longer run for a long time. Nice though a bit chilly weather.

Yökuppi race in Orimattila. Very enjoyable course and terrain for night orienteering. Terkkis-Jusbet show part X. Like several times before in Yökuppi we had same forking. We did good job avoiding mistakes. Only once we drifted to the right, but it was not our fault :). There was a guy in front of us leading us too much to the right. Last kilometers we had only one map, but that wasn't bothering us. We had map exchange program going on. I was first running a few legs and then Jusbet navigated last legs.

I was walking through a short Orienteering course with young skiers at Tapanila. They are "tasting" different kind of sports. Plan was to run afterwards, but it started to rain and I drove home :). Then I did short exercise at home.

I started my jog by guiding Jenni to her friend who lives near by Jusbe. While passing by his house Jusbe shouted me that my running looks very strong (to be honest there was also two words in between which were "does not"). I asked if he would join for a run and he did.

Yökuppi in Tiirismaa. Excellent course by Hirppa. Good run. Basically no mistakes. Legs 8, 9 and 11 I could have done better. Ability to run fast in forest is non-existing. Will work on it.

Assu's training in Pesis. Difficulties to find start. After running around Golf courses searching the start I ended up running the course from end to start. Finish was easier to find. Good training.

Too beautiful day not joy the excellent skiing trails at Sport Center once more. Maybe tomorrow too ;). All trails I skied were groomed this morning and were in perfect shape. On the flat area on top it was too crowded for relaxed skiing so I skied more on the hilly trails instead.

Hell of nice way to end skiing season (most probably end). Trails were not as soft as yesterday and glide was better. Brilliant morning. We would have had the last Rinkball training this morning too, but I decided to fulfill my obsession to reach
600 km
on skis and I did it. Yeah! Started the skiing on ungroomed trails, but like on the other mornings grooming began soon after 7 am.


Come on snow cat. Do your job and also Good bye Sport Center. See you next winter again
