Orienteering race (Night O) 1:00:20 [4] *** 6.5 km (9:17 / km)

Night cup - yökuppi at Vesivehmaa airport. 6.5 km course. After having busy day at work and activity evening in my daughter's day care and arriving late to starting place it was not the best way to prepare O race. Had not confident feeling and I was all the time too hurry. Many mistakes also in easy control points. Still it was fun. Results and Split Times

Weekly training by HU in Hirvikallio. Two first kilometers in absolutely fantastic terrain, but then instead of utilising good area the most worse area was used. It's bush, the map is not ok on that area and not updated to latest changes in forest lines. Not the best day for course setter and not a good day for me. In a leg I was so lost that I once gave up, but then cancelled the decision and went through the course.

Night cup - yökuppi in Orimattila, Kiiliö. Mass start. 5.6 km with 15 control points. Right after third control point I lost the contact the group infront of me. Started to work on my own and read first wrong leg for a while, but it did not lead to a mistake. On fourth I saw Topi and Juha. They had boomed that one. Until 9th control it was ok performance from me. Then Peesi and Juha were mainly on drivers seat and I did my best to correct their mistakes. :) Results, Split times and Routes

Night cup - yökuppi in Nastola. 5.2 km course. Lot of paths on the map and some nice bushes :). Good run. Not any major mistakes. On the second control I lost some time when closing to control. On the third I went too much right and on the way to fourth I lost the path under me and for a while went wrond direction in the bush. Noticed soon and after that it was pretty solid run. Lot of lamps in the forest. In some area they helped and obviously in some areas they only mess you. Results and Split times and Routes

Orienteering race (Night O) 57:00 [5] ***** 5.0 km (11:24 / km)

Night cup - Yökuppi race in Vihattu. 5.0 km course. Too difficult course and partly too shitty terrain to me. Not for me. I would not have put controls 6 - bush, 7 - bingo and 10 - bingo and low visibility, I did not understand the map at all at that area. Weeks break on orienteering and forest run didn't help. Even I had a feeling that I could run I had to fight really hard to go on and that reflects also to my navigating.

And on the top of all (I hear you Jagge) it will be DQ for me. Emit registered first three punches. Then it fall asleep and woke up on sixth and then silence again. Overall I had visited 5 or 6 controls based on Emit. From live tracking you can see that I visited all controls and for sure also punched there. No paper at the back of the Emit so there is no possibility check manually my result. The Emit I use is pretty new. Battery? Or is it something else that makes partly work.

Head up and towards next dissapointments.
