O - Race 2:04:43 [5] **** 13.6 km (9:10 / km) +590m 7:32 / km
spiked:24/32c

First full senior long. Pretty cool. Was 3rd starter (no WRE points) and went off quite gently. Aiming to run easy for the first hour and then try and pick it up a little bit. Caught my 2 minute man at the first control and the 4 minute on the way to the second. Stuck with the 2 minute Slovak for the first loop (which went well) and then took a different route choice (which was roughly the same but I messed about all the way along it). Was starting to feel tired as I did the butterfly loops about an hour round and lost a bit of time on a few controls. Once I got to the spectator I started to feel quite good so thought I would be able to push on the last section of the course, however 2nd control around the loop I messed about for ages and got quite tired. Plodded round the last few controls not loosing that much time to mistakes but a bit.

Overall I was really pleased with how I ran. Didn't lose that much time to mistakes but did physically and that is the easier thing to improve especially for this terrain type. Great experience as well.

Also beat Danny H :)

O - Sprint Race 20:00 [5] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)

Orientshow!
This is so much fun!
The organisation was shocking but the maze was well designed and the courses challenging. Did my 3 heats and qualified through to the last 16 so was pleased. Did the semi-final and it went alright. Eventually found out that I had made the final along with GG, Mattias Karlsson and Vincent Coupat? Very confused at the start as the angles were wrong but I managed to get the right number 1 (unlike everybody else), all got the wrong number 2, and then GG and myself got the right 6 unlike the others. Very hectic and we had no idea what had happened and neither did the organisers. However, I won! Boooooosh.

Warm up /down 40:00 [2]

Warmed up and down 6 times today.

O - Sprint Race 18:30 [5]

Night sprint. Was running really well. However, as has become all to common in sprint recently, my navigation was horrendous - otherwise I would have been close to winning some monies.

O - Training 52:11 [4] *** 6.77 km (7:42 / km)
ahr:174 max:188 spiked:9/14c shoes: VJ Sexes

Quite a tough area. Lots of brashing on the ground. Didn't really make any massive mistakes just losing a few seconds around the circle and on some route choices. Lost time on the last 2 controls as physically couldn't keep going. Overtook Lundanes on one control, felt good.

This is one of the best days of my life.
Training on "Thierry's Map", which is fantastic. Really technical the whole way round the course. Then during the afternoon session saw the Master himself Mr. Theirry. He said hello. It was awesome. Then the Norwegian team arrived, with Lundanes, Kvaal Østerbø, Waaler Kaas and Norberg. It was brilliant.
