Ewwwww. Horrible run, partly me partly the map being "very vague" with vegetation. Sometimes it was mapped, sometimes it wasn't. Poked myself in the eye with a tree. It hurt.

Did some shoe shopping, took agesssssss but eventually got some new ones.

Moving up sessions, drills back in (learning B Skips)
Cleaning from the thigh, deadlifts, shoulder press, arbesque with girl bar, box jumps, core circuit and some stretching. Loading me up... massive.

Also I kicked the hoover so I bruised my toe :(

Gabris K's - Put in ma track spikes... ooo yeah.
Took the first couple on a 16.00 5k (3.12) then stepped it up to 3.05 and did that for 5 reps then cranked it again to run 2.55. Zoooooooom.

No line feature map of Frith Hill. Was running off line a lot, not good.

Did however get to have a practice drive around the car park. Got into 2nd gear, turned some corners, parked and changed down gear to stop.... ooo yeah.

Course on Long Valley. Caught up Peter then we did some head to head stuff. Nearly got run over by some crazy squaddies in their jeeps. Haven't had a good run on Long Valley before, so was nice to keep that record.

So this was going really well. Felt really in control, but felt I was flowing and was running strongly. 50 seconds down on Craney and 30 on OJ so it was going alight.

Qualified into A final... despite

Final:
4th place, very nice and respectable. Joint fastest uphill leg to end with which took me from 5th to 4th.
Non optimal routes to 1 and 9. Just ran within myself and focused on not making mistakes.

Not the best race I've had but good enough, maybe I am just getting picky though.
1* - Hesitant
2* - Wide
3* - Missed and then ran over ditch, checked and got it
7* - Dropped in early
8* - Dropped in early again, should have gone round the back
10 - What tapes????
13* - Off compass and mis read paths
15* - Off line and just dived in without thinking
19 - Wrong spur, was being slow anyway to not make a big error
23 - Silly
24* - Hesitant and not reading map

However... job done

The real excitement of the day was yet to come...
on the way back from the restaurant in Monomoth the car decided to stop working. So there we were in the middle of nowhere (at least on the English side) with nothing... but I did manage to get home. Which is good.

Good race. Felt strong at in control nearly all of the time. Lost around 30 seconds in total so it was a good race.
Missed 1 - just a little though, not great on 7 but found it fine, lost time on 16, just running far to fast and not reading the map or planning enough, lost time on 17 by being crazy and diving into the garbage, missed 18 (but everybody did)

No atmosphere :( at the event at all
