ACO cup, Lazdynai forest (near ElektrÄ—nai), men course, 6.5km. Superb air conditions - some 17C at start time. Started perfectly - first mistake on 7th CP - a little bit hesitated near CP - 15''. 15th - route choice mistake, took a route through right, while should have taken through left (didn't see it) - 30''. Only near 15th was caught by Rimvydas by 2', I anticipated him earlier. Just before punching 17th slipped on the mud and injured tarsus of the right leg. To 18th tried to slowly run after Rimvydas, he made small mistake - some 15'. Just before 18th understood that my race is over - the pain prevented from any running :( Then walked to the finish, just near 20th succeeded to make a 30'' mistake - walked right beside the pit, but didn't notice it. It could have been the best race of the season if could avoid the injury - could easily finish with Rimvydas in some 56'30'', as felt great in running. Shit happens...

The second test of orienteering socks went fine - no blisters. Good purchase.

O-Tuesday in SapieginÄ—, B course, 4.1km, started at the end of the rain shower. 1st - direct climbing test - success. 4th - didn't expect CP to be so low, ran too high on the slope, expected 30'' error, from the splits see that it was 1'. 5th - there were two equal route choices, took right one, over the top of the hill, as it looked safer. Just after leaving 5th CP spend some 15'' for coughing fit. 6th CP - messed for 30'' in CP area. 7th - lack of map reading - should have followed the hill on the left, messed around a bit until relocated - 1'15''. Missed the path to the right near 8th CP, but somehow felt that should already turn right - so just small 10'' mistake. 9th - went too low on the slope in CP area - 15''. To 10th somehow couldn't get right direction from the beginning - 15''. To 12th there were again two route choices, took right - a longer one, but around big hill (I guess was doubting about my possibilities at this stage to climb another 40m high hill), just 20'' mistake because of lack of map reading in the first part. 4' of mistakes in total, was lucky that Marius C. was also making mistakes, so that was still enough for a win. It wasn't difficult to run today (ran to all hills), but it wasn't easy orienteering, as all the course was looped in such small map.

Tested my new orienteering socks (Noname) - 1st time ever ran with proper ones. Perfect fit - no blisters on heels, toes or feet, maybe it was positively affected by wet shoes.
