PT (Kinetic Chain) 1 [3]

At the shop. Adrienne show me another shoulder exercise that is too hard to describe. I will call it, "Child's pose straight arm over head hand up lift from shoulder flappy wavy" exercise.

Bike 1:30:00 [3]

BP Thu hills. Work is interfering with my plans to be a bike racer. The weather is interfering with workout plans in general. Evening storms scooted by to the south but they were close enough that I was the only one to show up. I waited until 1847 and just decided to go on my own. Start riding hard, did 4 "Up and Around" segments hard, rode hard back, and sprinted to the finish. That worked out to about 52 min of hard work. As hard as I was working I was still far off what my times would have been in a group. On the other hand, it would be hard to be more consistent. My "Up and Around" splits were 6:13, 6:15, 6:14 and 6:02.

Bike 1:26:00 [3]

Once again playing Frogger with the weather. Did a hand full of hills all standing, not cranking, but just standing to work different muscles.

Lift (Core Perf) 46:00 [3]

Week 6: Run for 5 + PG + S

Row 1:02:00 [3]

Steady-state. Power a little lacking. I didn't think today was going to be a rowing day but when I got up and saw that the wind was down I hustled down to the lake. Worked out well.

Run 20:00 [3]

Some rain but the storms mostly dodged SMU.

Lift (Core Perf) 34:00 [3]

Erg 1:05:00 [3]
shoes: RP3

2 ( 4/3 + 3/2 + 2/1 + 1) / 4
SR= 24, 26, 28, 30
Race WU

The earth's atmosphere was too windy for going out on the water. Decent work on the erg but I need to get to where I'm doing this workout 2-4 spm faster.

Started to feel a little run down in the afternoon so bagged Core Perf.

Row 58:00 [3]

2x with Luis. Ben and Mark in another boat. 3 wind shifts but we were able to stay in good water and get some good strokes in. Enjoyable.

Lift (Core Perf) 40:00 [3]

Week 6: MP(A+B) + S(Tue) + Cable-balance-press-things
Added a little extra assistance on pullups so as not to strain my bicep.
1 breeze on the bench press and one breeze during tricep presses.

Germanfest 100k, aka, "Muester", 'cause it's in Muenster, TX.

* I haven't done a whole lot of these rallies but this is my favorite. The traffic was low, the scenery really nice, and the hills fun. Strava gives me credit for a good 200m more climb -- lots of hills.
* Great weather. Strong headwind heading south from the start but I hid in packs so not a huge deal. Some rain came through when we were heading north but it wasn't too bad. Nice thing is the winds eased after. Otherwise relatively cool temps and mostly cloudy. Can't get better than that.
* Planned to keep the effort easy and wasn't really successful. I wasn't really going hard after it but the way the packs worked out I wasn't dawdling. Impossible to keep my HR down on the hills. Finished tired but still strong, with energy and in good shape.
* Turned out I was strong on the hills relative to those I was with. I didn't make any supreme efforts, just spinning. But I'd end up off the front of whatever group I was with, which meant I either had to wait or hustle to a group ahead. So I did the latter. From 60k I was with about a half dozen other guys until the last 15k at the steep hill. Only me and another guy kept pace and we stayed together until the end.
* Hit 73.2kph on the steep downhill at 65k and that was just coasting -- ZING.
* It is hard to evaluate the breaking of wind because all those bumpy roads can lead to micro farts that go largely unnoticed. I would expect a sizable net gas release.
* The fastest guys finished in 2:27 and then there were packs at 2:40 and 2:47.
