Yard 2:00:00 [1]

Lots of weeding and cutting back dead stuff.

orienteering 28:37 [3]

Sprint 1 at Norristown Hospital. Probably didn't take the best route 8-9 (went around on the road) although it was close.

orienteering 28:06 [3]

Sprint 2. I was really tired and didn't jog as much as on the first one. I probably messed up on some micro-routes (went right of the building on 2 not seeing the hedge initially, went left of the building at 5 wanting to avoid going around the wall but that was probably shorter) but maybe only lost a couple seconds.

Note

And that's it for the summer sprint series. I think we raised over $3000 for the Senior Team - I hope so at least. There will be a set of sprints at Nolde in August but they aren't part of the fundraiser.

They continue to be reasonably well attended with lots of the same people coming out but also some newcomers. I'm not sure if I want to "organize" it again - it's not really all that much organization, just lining up some event directors and making sure all the scheduling works out. Perhaps we should try a different evening, although I personally like Wednesdays. The events themselves are significantly less work to put on than a regular event so I was hoping the format would entice some new volunteers but I suppose weekday evenings are just not reasonable for many people.

strength & stretching 1:20:00 [3]

Class at the gym plus the walk there and back. I finally made it through without having to put the weights down for anything.

Still working on making it through the plank/pushup challenge (10 count plank, 10 pushups, 10 count plank alternating legs out to the sides, then 8 of each, 6 of each, 4 and 2). Even with the pushups on my knees my arms give out somewhere in the 6's.

Felt like a workout so it's counting as training!

Note

I'm in the middle of getting the AGM stuff ready to send to clubs detailing how many OUSA members they have and thus how many votes they get. It's not hard but it's time consuming and tedious. While I can get a lot set up ahead of time, since I have to use memberships as of 7/31 I have to wait until Aug. 1 to finalize everything. And I'm going to be away and not really wanting to do this the first week of August.

I don't think there are any contentious issues to be voted on at the AGM (although who knows what people will find controversial) so it will mostly be about the election. All 4 board members whose terms expire have decided not to run again. I get that - they all put in a lot of time and effort during their tenure - but they were really engaged board members on the executive committee and did a lot for OUSA. I hope we get candidates just as dedicated willing to stand for election.
8 AM

hiking 56:09 intensity: (5 @0) + (17:12 @1) + (14:55 @2) + (23:51 @3) + (6 @4) 2.89 mi (19:26 / mi) +97m 17:35 / mi
ahr:106 max:131

Got out early but was still drenched by the time I finished.

On the plus side, didn't want to put on my brace so didn't and my knee was fine.
