Hill repeats behind Valley Green. There's a trail that goes up one side and down the other, one side being pretty steep just straight up and the other side a short steep section and then a long winding gradual section. Sometimes I feel like just going up and down the steep one and sometimes I feel like going up one side and then down the other. I was planning to do the up one down the other but the gradual side was a total sloppy muddy and wet mess so after one of those I just went up and down the steep side.

Took my time, used my poles and didn't feel particularly tired. I was down to shirt sleeves pretty quickly though.

Meadow loop before heading into work to do things that were canceled Wednesday for the snow day. Running a bit late so pushed the pace. Not super fast but faster than any recent outings which is pretty good given that 1) the trails were a mess of snow, ice and mud; 2) I didn't run a step just tried to walk fast; and 3) I've still got a bit of chest congestion so had a couple of coughing fits.

Could really feel yesterday's workout!

strength & stretching 45:00 [3]

Good session with Melissa. We were relegated to a different room that didn't have as many weights so I ended up using 6lb instead of 5lb for a lot of things. Definitely tougher (especially anything over my shoulders), but doable.

strength & stretching 30:00 [3]

Two rounds of shoveling. More to come later I'm sure but I'd rather do several quick ones.

Note

Finally solved one of the weekly maps - at least I'm pretty confident I did.

A nice morning hike - felt full of energy. Was just thinking how yesterday there were people everywhere while I was out and this morning I hadn't seen a soul, when of course I met some people going the other way on the trail. One woman asked me about how the trails connect up across Wise's Mill - she had been coming the other direction and the trail across the road isn't that obvious, you have to know to go up the road a tad and around the uphill side of the overgrown gate to get to it and you can't see that there is a trail there at all from the other side of the road - but after I explained that she waved away all my attempts at how to get to this side of that trailhead from where we were. I am not convinced she will find it. Oh well, I tried.
