orienteering 1:19:15 [3] 5.72 km (13:51 / km)

DVOA green course at French Creek. Hot and buggy. The woods seemed like a jungle after the open woods up at Hickory Run yesterday. Messed up #1 and #5. Didn't read the "trails" and open areas correctly for #1 (should have just gone on a compass bearing I guess) and got off line because of lots of downed trees to #5. There was a road run, back door option that probably would have been faster but I wanted woods time. Was able to read the rock features to eventually figure out where I was and where to go.

I used to love French Creek but with the rocks and ferns and lack of nice woods it's not so appealing anymore.

map hiking 6:00:00 [1]

Another day traipsing around Hickory Run. Streamered a bunch more locations and feeling good about many courses. Still some work to do but I won't get back to the park for a while now. Things were still pretty open today but in another month - when I'll likely have time to get back up there - things will be a bit thicker in many places.

Knee was fine for about 5 hours then started to get a bit sore. Icing it now.

trail 34:40 [3]

Modified version of the loop since the section in the woods is now pretty green and prickery (it is still flagged as a potential(?) trail but nothing has been done) and some other sections are being rerouted as the work continues in the park.

hiking 46:30 [3]

TNT - hike/jog on the Indian trail with Sandy and Jim while Bob ran the trails on his own. Legs and lungs felt awful. Rats.
