TNT - the die hards
Very cold night so didn't want to use distance as a gauge and didn't want anyone to feel compelled to go at my pace (while safe enough, it would be a little foolish to run alone at night in the park) so convinced everyone to do hill repeats instead. So about 15 minutes to get to the covered bridge, ran the hill for 30 minutes, and then home. Did 6 hills in 30 minutes - walked the first one to warm up, then ran progressively further up the hill each of the next 5. The guys did more. Nothing spectacular but a good workout for me. Short of breath on the jog on the drive back home and we weren't going particularly fast.
Note
For the first time I can remember, we didn't see a soul the whole time we were in the park. I imagine anyone seeing our headlamps going up and down the hill would have had a hard time trying to figure out what was going on. I really enjoyed this workout because I had company but no pressure to do any more than I wanted. Interesting that last year I remember being glad that I was running with others because it was pushing me to do more and this year I sometimes don't like running with others because it pushes me to do more.
