trail 49:50 [3] 5.0 mi (9:58 / mi)

Longest I've ever gone without walking I think.

trail 25:00 [1]

Walk down to the trail and back after the run. Knees pretty sore today.

Saturday Nov 27, 2004 #

trail 55:00 [3]

easy jog on the small trails on the hillsides of the Wissahickon - slow pace but tried to keep it steady on all the ups and downs and rocks.

Friday Nov 26, 2004 #

map hiking 2:00:00 [1]

3 hours at Iron Hill (I'll say two hours of actually moving) streamering controls, checking out new trails, etc. Very low effort - beautiful day in the woods.

Thursday Nov 25, 2004 #

trail 1:01:00 [3]

Hike down and back; 4 miles along the creek. (9:54,9:25,9:30,9:47)

Wednesday Nov 24, 2004 #

map hiking 1:00:00 [1]

Spent two hours in the woods at Iron Hill doing some course setting, but had to stop a lot to tie streamers, check out new trails and so forth.

treadmill 20:00 [3] 3.0 km (6:40 / km)

a quick workout after a loooong drive; too late to run in the Wissahickon

Sunday Nov 21, 2004 #

trail 1:00:00 [1] 3.0 mi (20:00 / mi)

Walked in the Wissahickon with friends in the morning and then hiked down and up for a run in the afternoon.

trail 38:00 [3] 4.0 mi (9:30 / mi)

Run along the creek in the Wissahickon; tired from yesterday's Stumble.

Saturday Nov 20, 2004 #

orienteering 2:10:00 [4] 9.0 km (14:27 / km)

First loop of the SVO Stumble, aka Short Stumble. Went out in a group of 4 (me, Heidi Onkst, Kathleen Lennon and Darcy Good) and had a blast.

Thursday Nov 18, 2004 #

trail 53:00 [3]

short route down and back up to beat the sun setting; 3 miles along the main trail by the creek (9:40 pace)

Wednesday Nov 17, 2004 #

trail 1:00:00 [3] 5.0 mi (12:00 / mi)

normal jog down into the Wissahickon, 3 miles on the trail, and a hike/jog back up.

Sunday Nov 14, 2004 #

orienteering 57:31 [4] 4.64 km (12:24 / km)

Green course at Hammonds Rocks at Mid-Atlantic Champs. Solid effort with some hesitation errors and one sloppy route choice.

Wednesday Nov 10, 2004 #

trail 48:00 [3]

Easy run on the trails in the Wissahickon. Ankle pretty much recoverd.

Sunday Nov 7, 2004 #

orienteering 1:29:39 [4] 6.56 km (13:40 / km) +245m 11:31 / km

Red course at White Clay Creek (DVOA local event). Things were going pretty well until about 2/3's of the way through at which point my legs pretty much died, I rolled my ankle and then I was sloppy out of a control and ended up in an area with a ton of downed trees and couldn't get to the trail...

Saturday Nov 6, 2004 #

biking 2:30:00 [2]

Out to Valley Forge and back; somewhere between 25 and 30 miles. It's mostly flat except the first 2 miles downhill and then the last 2 miles back up to the ridge; it's a paved trail but I use my mountain bike anyway. Need to inflate the tires when I do this! Took it easy but my legs were beat on the way back.

Friday Nov 5, 2004 #

trail 1:10:00 [3] 6.5 mi (10:46 / mi)

Trying to increase how far I can jog. Mile splits on the main gravel trail were 10:18, 9:46, 9:10 and 9:56.

17 minutes jogging in the woods and on trails going down and 14 minutes walking and jogging up out of the valley back home.

Wednesday Nov 3, 2004 #

trail 1:00:00 [3] 5.5 mi (10:55 / mi)

3.5 miles at 10 min pace along the big flat trail at the bottom of the valley
~2 miles hike/jog/walk down and back up
