Orienteering 2:10:00 [3] *** 7.5 mi (17:20 / mi)
spiked:15/15c shoes: Addidas Kanadia TR

Hanging controls for the meet today. Sunrise was amazing. No wind. Frozen ground. About busted my arse crossing the river on ice covered rocks. Wonderful meet to follow. What a day! More later.

Mountain Biking 1:00:00 [3] *** 5.0 mi (12:00 / mi)
spiked:12/12c

Mountain biked to pick up controls with John Clausen. My son Matt picked up the Northern controls on foot. That's my boy! To say the wind really picked up today was an understatement.

Hanging some of the remote controls for the Longview meet tomorrow.

Mountain Biking 1:00:00 [3] 6.5 mi (9:14 / mi)

Took a new guy from work out to ride Landahl. Wes was from Oregon and rides a sweet Kline (sp?) bike that weighed next to nothing. I realized shortly after hitting the trail that he didn't ride it on single track before yesterday. He was having a tough time of it out there and the thin layer of snow in the shady areas wasn't helping anything. We had started out on the Rim which is one of the more difficult trails out there and I quickly switched to Will's Wanderer once I caught on he was struggling. Will's is a much more flowy trail. He only went down once, sliding out on a snow covered root.

We had a good time but it was a pretty slow pace. I was amazed that I didn't have much trouble on the traction. I actually cleared a couple things I normally find difficult. Very fun but not very fast day.

I had a soccer game so I chilled at the gym after the mountain bike ride and did my upper body lift routine.

Finished out this marathon training night with indoor soccer at SportCity in Blue Springs, MO. I play with an old farts team, the Slugs and have off and on for five years. This was our first game of the new sessions. Had a good first half but ended up tied at the half 3-3. We came out the second half and played better defense and got a few goals as well, finishing strong with a 9-4 lead. We also wore our new kits for the first time last night. In the past we wore our traditional green T-shirts with our slug logo. We just got new unis that I think are Chelsea's old away design. Bright dayglow lime green with black accents. Nobody will conflict with these. :-)

Skating 30:00 [2]

Went ice skating with Campfire USA Adventure Fitness at Crown Center. Nobody showed but the volunteers. Rental skates suck big wind. Bummer. Skated anyway but I'd rather be roller skating.
