Note

I'm enjoying the nopesport thread on the Novemeber classic cancellation.
Nopesport has become very boring of late, but this one is very entertaining. I'm trying to decide which angle I'll way in on, or maybe I already have.....

Run 1:18:00 [3]
shoes: Roclite 315

Mon night run from Charles,
Pleasent looking at the fireworks on purdown. The effects of my sickness began to tell, and was struggling after 30 mins. Cut back when we got back to purdown. Still - felt better than sat or sunday. small steps to recovery.

Run 1:02:00 [3]
shoes: Jalas Olway

Was heading to November classic with Mark, hanne, James.
We'd mucked round a bit (I'd failed to get up on time), then there was a reaosnbly amount of snow and flooding in bath. So we were making our way slowly southwards. Debatably weather we would've got there in time for my start, but then we got word the event had been cancelled.

So did a very pleasent run in the snow from Bath uni, round throught the woods of bathampton. Mark took us proper offroading here, we were doing ascents up through brambles and all. Some really nice features in there. Then past a castle facade, then onto some skyline view walk of bath, through some more coll little patches of wood and back. Good run, probably more enjoyable than new forest.

Still suffering in chest.

Orienteering 1:03:00 [3]

FoD Trellech Common
This area has not been used in the last couple of decades, and only the seocnd use after the long O, which I didn't go too.
Typically FoD area, even though it's on the other side of the Wye. Somre really nice patches of wood, with some quite technically areas, interspersed with some patches of not quite so runnable stuff. Overall a nice little area.

Ideally when you first use an area the map should be good, and then you would expect it to degrade over the next dozen years or so. I know that this map was mapped by volunteers and it's great when volunteers volunteer. But it's a shame how patchy this map is.
Specfic:
#5 was not quite mapped right, only a couple of mm off, but that made all the difference.
#12 area was not mapped right. A really cool area of quarrys and trail bike tracks... Not sure how to map this at 1:10, but if you can't, it's probably not sutiable for a control.
#14, the mapping was "compressed"
Generally:
I didn't spot what i would call a distinct vegetation boundary, somebody needs to remove that OCAD function from their symbol set.
The veg was random, walk was run, run was slow run.
Rant over, volunteers time is limited, it should be used where most suited. Mapping is very difficult, it is very easy to out source........

Still suffering big time with chest, took it easy got a little frusrated, enjoyed the forest. third behind charles and a dominant marcus.
