A really nice last run in the Engadin before heading down to the monster heat (35°C in Neuchatel). I didn't feel great on this run, I guess because it was always slightly uphill and also because it was at a pretty high altitude. But my knee did ok, which was great. Hope it improves some more the next few days.

Giving running another try, going really slowly, but really enjoying it to the max. My knee did fine actually, now just need to see how it does this evening and tomorrow.

I usually don't put hiking in my training log, but this was a special day. Matti and I went hiking together! And he did so good! I am so proud of him and I can hardly believe that he is already big enough to go on a good hike.

My knee has been hurting me since before the OO cup and I decided to train differently these last few days, hence the MTbiking and the uphill "running". Today I was going to take totally off, since my knee was hurting a bunch this morning and we all went up to the Corvatsch Mountain station with the gondola. It was up there that I got the idea to walk with Matti from the middle station to another middle station about 5km away and go down and take the bus home. It worked out perfectly.

My knee pain is very low, more like on my shin bone on the inside, where the gracillis and sartorious attach to the tiba. It's an inflammation at the attachment, but I can't seem to get it to go away with massaging the adductors or the calf.

Note

The results of Marc's MRI were confirmed today: he has a bone bruise in his ankle. The problem with this type of injury is that you cannot tell my the picture if the bone will recover quickly (1-2 weeks) or if the bone was in a weaken state and that is why the bruise occurred, in which case, the recovery can sometimes take a few months. Marc is naturally disappointed and frustrated; he's in great shape and we have both invested a lot this year so that he can race at a high level (one more time?). The idea of having his season be over in the middle of it is tough to take. However, at least nothing is broken, no surgery needed, he doesn't need to miss work and if all goes well he may be running again in a few weeks. So no need to panic, patience is the only solution, as you can't change what is done.

Note
(rest day)

Long day traveling to Silvaplana from France after the last race yesterday. We are all exhausted, plus Marc's foot is not getting better. Doctors appointment tomorrow. Probably an MRI to make sure nothing is broken. So sad for him.
