Home to Laigh Hills World Orienteering Day event. Jog about, shadow cubs on white and then a yellow and then collect controls on way home. Then onto the serious bit - pub.
A run from home up to gathering Stone on a wiggly route then into the greener forest to hunt down the secret trods. Much fun! So much so the hour went by pretty painlessly :-)
Scottish Relay Champs, Binning Wood.
Stupid relay, stupid course names, stupid wood, stupid me for going out like a hare with a rocket up its backside, stupid, stupid, stupid.
Best part of the day? Gardening when I got home.

SOA Championships - Gullane Dunes and Archerfield.
Not sure how I'd hold up for this, probably not helped by heading for the wrong start and having to run sub-5 to get to my start!
Well, at least I was proper warmed up and I went out hard. Some very minor wobbles on the first few - first control behind a tree, a bit too fast into 3, hidden 4, slightly right at 5 but then I was off. Didn't enjoy the cross country run along the beaches round to the map turnover and didn't enjoy that the orienteering was a bit noddy and most "tricky" controls were close to big features. You had to run hard and stay very tidy. I knew to use trods and tracks as much as possible and I was really wilting on the last loop against the grain. Glad for it to be over. After 15k of running my left calf promptly gave in when I tried to jog warm down back. It'll be right for tomorrow tho.... I hope.... wine helps.....
Results - Who the F@+@ knows! Still waiting to find out how I did (at 9pm at night).
