Orienteering 1:48:22 [3] 10.9 km (9:57 / km) +580m 7:51 / km
ahr:141 max:161

Warrior O' Trial on Graythwaite.
Classic Bilbo planning on a really tough area, body complaining from the start but still keen to complete. Not in race mode so running quite defensively in the main. O' shoes slipping all over the shop (will remember the orange ones are no good in this stuff!).
Despite the toughness I had fun. Absolutely frozen at the end!

A great tough weekend for WOC classic runners this weekend - many thanks to Liz, Malcolm, Bilbo, Hollie and supporters for a quality weekend's training.

Orienteering 58:30 [3] 5.05 km (11:35 / km) +312m 8:51 / km
ahr:139 max:163

Liz's training on Simpson's Ground - excellent blanked map compass work. Amazing what you can do with a solid bearing ;-) Collecting controls as I went, thankfully Graham Watson took the first half off me on the way round.
Freezing!
2 PM

Orienteering 30:00 [3] 2.5 km (12:00 / km) +150m 9:14 / km

Orienteering on one of the 5 day areas. Shadowing Hollie. Only managed the first exercise then Hollie took a dive. Heavy fall on her knee and game over.
Got round some bit so of the maze, which was fun, but distracted by concern over Hollie. I hope it's just a few days off...

Run 47:20 [3] 6.03 km (7:51 / km) +435m 5:46 / km
ahr:141 max:166

Not intending to run today but the weather was simply too nice and I've been keen to recce Birnam Hill for a while. Suffice to say - great run, area looking tough but usable for some hard core informal elite weekend training.

Thursday Dec 4, 2014 #

Run 35:10 [3] 6.2 km (5:40 / km)
ahr:123 max:160

Stiff and tired legs so just a steady run today - down through Luncarty and round the river.

Run 30:00 [3] 5.4 km (5:33 / km) +150m 4:53 / km
ahr:129 max:164

In the windy city, sunny out, one lap of Dog Poo Hill (aka Corstorphine). Cruising on the flat and down, working the ups.
6 PM

Orienteering 51:21 [3] 5.43 km (9:27 / km)
ahr:128 max:162

Stealth Night-O at Colzium.
Hung the tricky butterfly and loop to the East then ran the last section and again shadowing GG. Great area.
Top banter and grub in Boat House after.

Run warm up/down 25:00 [2]

W/D with Cathy Tillbrook of all people!
12 PM

Run race 19:03 [4] 4.7 km (4:03 / km)
ahr:163 max:173

SNH Battleby Monthly Time Trial.
I think I was subconsciously aware of this yesterday, when being a whimp at pilates...
Started last (as fastest) and keen to run a new PB. Target was to get under 20 minutes and I thought I'd have my work cut out to do this. Went off hard and fast, too fast in fact and really felt it a mile in. Great to be catching folk all the way and constantly looking ahead to find someone else to tick off.
Saw how quick I was at the turn point and mentally eased off, maybe not so much physically, but now know that this is a very solid PB which will require some work to beat.
Cool! Won some maltesers as a prize ;-)
