Day 5 (Final) of Croatia Open - same forest as yesterday.
Feeling better to race. Ran strong and pretty clean to end up 30 seconds down on Marcus (overall winner) and ahead of Andy on the day.

Orienteering race 46:15 [4] 5.0 km (9:15 / km) +250m 7:24 / km
Day 4 of Croatia Open. On hillside not too far from our accomodation. Less climb in general and more runnable underfoot but still with some nice detail. Ran much better than yesterday. Down, again on Marcus and Andy who took the win. Now only one minute down on Marcus overall. All to play for on final day.

Day 4 of Croatia Open. Long race near Delnice. A blistering hot day and I'd been sat in the sun looking after the kids most of the morning. Felt terrible from the start (mixture or heat and altitude but mainly poor fitness) found the ice storm affected forest very tough and my Garmin showed 795m of climb!
Wilted towards the end and then made a major mistake and went awol. Miles down on Andy (48) and Marcus (52). Game over.

Day 2 Croatia Open, Sprint Race on the lsland of Krk.
Hot, hilly, slippy on the limestone pavements and no speed from me. Not at my best - even Marcus in front of me (on a sprint!). Andy smashed it.

A real shock to the system! Ran ok but really blew a gasket on the hills.
