Note

Janine still full of flu. Me wiped by exhaustion I think....not used to helping out so much at home, especially through the nights (yes, my wife is much harder than I cared to admit).

Hence a no-show at Gullane - Tess and Claire would have kicked my butt anyway so I just avoided the embarrassment ;-)

Instead I roller bladed while Matthew balance-biked the Doune railway, onto the playpark and then cafe for lunch. Then an afternoon trying to keep Matthew entertained, mainly in the garden.

Note

Janine full of the flu.

So I took Hannah and Matthew to Crieff to the Tay Come and Try It at McRory Park - wow - what a day! Great park, great event, great play park!
The sun made all the difference and I loved my five and half hours with the kids.

Washed the cars with Matthew to fill the rest of the afternoon. He washed me.

Working from Aberfoyle Office today.
Couldn't help but get out before dark out the back, over the golf course and up a jocking great hill! Weedled my way up finding secret mtb track after mtb track and only had to go cross country for the very last bit. Body complaining but mind elated - excellent countryside, magnificent views of Ben Lomond and the Trossachs range. This is why I want to stay reasonably fit.

Scottish Civil Service Cross Country Championships, Stirling Uni.

Any excuse for an afternoon off work! What an embarressment - because of austere times it looks like everyone has cancelled their £3 a month membership of the CSSC as there were approximately 8 people there!

Goregous sunny day, lovely soft, easy going underfoot conditions. Shame the organisers had failed to bring their number bibs and forgotten that we should be doing 4 laps not 3 !

A youngster (club runner) got a way from the off and I sat on the back of two 40+ Vets for the first lap to see how I was doing. Worked out that they were both struggling a bit more than me and put the boot in on the small climb from the loch up to the pitches. Nobody followed. From then on it was me against me - pushed hard and tried to stick to similar lap times.

Unbelievably 2nd placed and 1st Vet in a National XC race!
Farcical!

Run warm up/down 20:00 [3]

Starving hungry having missed lunch!
