Note
(injured)

Calf is terrible.
Can weight bear but can't flex forward or push off or anything!
Compression, ice, ibuprofen in and out...doing all the stuff but this baby looks like a long-termer. 2 Months I reckon.
Must get to a physio early this week for full prognosis. ;-(

Orienteering 49:00 [4]

SEDS training organised by Lorna on Littlemill.
In pairs hanging with Rog. Felt very stiff at the start having not run in two days and done a sub-standard warm down after Dumyat. Body eased up a bit but didn't enjoy the tough terrain that Littlemill has to offer.
On the way back we traversed an open area with lots of furrows and I was cursing. Stopped to pick my map up from a stream as it flowed away and then just as we started back across the furrows I misjudged a furrow and my right calf failed to handle the stress - SNAP!
Bad tear in the calf. Made my way back towards the road with a few stops in marshes.
BAAAAADDDDDD!

Fell Race race 42:37 [5] 7.9 km (5:24 / km) +410m 4:17 / km
ahr:164 max:175

Dumyat Hill Race, FVO WEE scorer.
Looking forward to a hard race, but not looking forward to it also. This hurts. Always.
I tried hard to start fast and plugged away on the hill but it was clear early on, by the bits I needed to walk, that the weekend had taken too much out of me to break last year's PB (41:12). Still, I plugged on, trying to keep Kitch in my sights (he pulled away at the top and I never saw him again). By the top (27:07 as opposed to last year's 25:46) I was wrecked and struggled to get down the first rock step! Having said that the recent recces meant my legs enjoyed it once the lactic had cleared a bit (15:30 close to last year's 15:25) and I don't feel too sore the day after (unlike last year). Need to lose the weight if I'm to get under that 40 mark!
Rocky - new Record!, Hector 2nd, Oleg 3rd - Boosch to the O'gang!

Orienteering race 43:33 [5] 9.3 km (4:41 / km) +150m 4:20 / km
ahr:164 max:176

Kendal Urban Race.
Not sure my body was up to this but pushed hard from the beginning. A horrific course where the first half was just brutal running round a housing estate. Got interesting back over the road but I didn't always get the best lines. Don't do enough of this to be that good at it but I ran hard and tried. Results showing I had beaten Richard Barret but looking back at the splits it looks as though there was a problem with a finish unit and Richard had just pipped me. Ray Ward a winner - 90 secs in front.
Good fun but not my sport.
