Terrain Run 1:15:00 [3]
ahr:128 max:156

Discovered I was missing control 166 from Wednesday night event so back in Sauchie trying to work out what I'd done with it. Turns out it was still there because that's when I met Mark Holliday and had the discussion about him collecting the next few (failing to collect this as we chatted).
I then did my bit for the club and ran round tracking the windblow with my GPS. Not a pleasant session. Used up one of my 9 lives towards the end when I climbed over some windblow and fell to the ground landing onto the spike of the trestle I was carrying. Thankfully my rib cage managed to deflect it as it was heading straight for my heart. Called it a day shortly after....

Run 41:06 [4] 7.3 km (5:38 / km)
ahr:136 max:157

Usual run from home to Gathering Stone and back.
Feeling spritely once up on the hill.

Orienteering 1:05:00 [3]

Hanging controls for the night event in Sauchie.
Oh dear. windblow.
6 PM

Orienteering 1:10:00 [3]

Starting the race off (30 people mass start!) and then watching, collecting in loop 1, wtaching and collecting (bar the 2 I asked Mark Holliday to collect after I'd caught him up 25 minutes at one control).

Shame about the windblow. At least Nixon set a reasonable time of 35 mins for 4.1k. I loved collecting - so much easier when there are reflective canes in the forest!

Run 35:30 [3]

Usual run - great weather (shame the inversion hadn't completely cleared as the views would have been immense). Bumped into Louise (Howard) and dog out for a run and passed a Rapplochian on her way to the shops in pyjamas and slippers!
Body pleased with two days off.

Note

30 entries for the night race at Sauchie tomorrow.
Bring it on!

Note

Missing FVO Pilates to attend a Squad Support Fund meeting in Edinburgh (although I hear Brian hosted a great session! Again).

It's a shame some athletes are not able to submit detailed fully completed forms, with coach endorsements included - we'd have been able to give away for more money if they could. In the end we did part with £1300 in total.

Heard that Scott ran an indoor 3k yesterday in 8:19 (paced by Iain Donan) and could have gone faster had there not been lots of punters running the same race on a 200m track. Good stuff.
