Run 35:00 [4]

Got to the FCC Final race a bit too late to go running myself - what with a spectator control and some good commentary there was no way I was going out.

Squeezed in a hilly short run from Sarah and James' later on.
Didn't feel that fresh!

Orienteering 40:00 [4]

Went out on the Middle area with an old map pre- race-excitement.
I seem to have found more green than the athletes did!

Note
(rest day)

Another rest day. feeling guilty today but I've no time - no lunch break and driving straight to Stirling to jump on ScotJos minibus at 3:30.
Maybe at the YH this evening??????

I want one of these, in Brown. FVO crew?

Woke up with a sore throat and pretty sore joints.
Selected to cancel the idea of a lunchtime run from work.

Orienteering race 28:30 [5] 3.7 km (7:42 / km)

FVO WEE event at Achray.
Turned up early to help Brian set up. Pretty miserable soggy night.
After a brief warm up I headed off - though I had attacked it - as my legs and lungs were burning - but if I had then my time was pretty naff.
Must have been the effects of yesterday's track session.
And after all that I discovered that where I had had problem with the map was where I was in the wrong place - a DSQ for me!
Good banter at the Forth inn after, as usual.

Easy Run warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Race race 10:56 [5] 3.0 km (3:39 / km)

FVO's 3Km Time Trial!
Oh what fun we had! After a deluge of rain in Stirling it cleared to a pretty nice sunny evening. Unfortunately, we turned up to track and discovered Active Stirling were back for their first kids session. Anyway, John S put in some kind words with the Tosser I fell out with last time and we were in agreement we could use the inside lane. Unfortunately, then Central Athletic turned up when it was the lads turn to do it and one of the coaches there wasn;t quite so welcoming. In fact he was obstructing throughout the session and John S nearly socked him one - he kept getting in the way of young Ben and Jamie, on purpose. Anyway - I was running for home and biting my lip (cos I'm not good at handling my rage) and it turns out that all of us who attended tonight all broke their PBs! That's great news! And I took 20 seconds off mine!
So, despite a Stirling uni full of unhelpful wazzoks we achieved lots!

Easy Run warm up/down 30:00 [2]

Orienteering 2:10:00 [3]

With Roger control tagging on Touch for the up-coming SOL.
We got lucky - wet underfoot as it had rained all day but a beautiful spring evening to be on the fells.
Just the kind of session I needed after such a debauched weekend!
