Work-Kinnoull Hill-work.
Feeling very un-bouncy today and really felt the climb. Right calf also seriously uncomfortable. Having said that 25:48 to the top is only 45 seconds slower than my pb.
Wearing a GB Craft T.shirt made me think about my posture all the way to the hill and back!

A run with Jon X from home - usual route up to Gathering Stone and then a wee loop of the thick forest beyond before a soggy return. Jon making me run a bit faster than normal.

From work to top of Kinnoull Hill - 25:04 and then back home.
This hill is hard work!
I should get fit if I can manage to do this 3-4 times a week ;-)

Note

Talking orienteering all evening with Jamie and Mark. Great :-)

Orienteering 46:00 [3]

From home up to the Gathering Stone on the longer route and round past the Clan Monument. Going OK up the hill but didn't like the really muddy return journey - too much slippiness for my calf.

Orienteering 30:00 [3]

Some work with Jamie on Stirling Town.
Helping him get geared up for JWOC. Had a good chat after about all the disciplines and his last JWOC. He'll do good I reckon.

Run 20:00 [2]

Was hoping to get onto Kinnoul Hill from work but the body is wrecked from the weekend. Calf feeling very sore, hip flexors very tight and strained core muscle. Fell over loads on Saturday night....
Just managed a lap of South Inch Park.

I need to come back slowly.

Orienteering race 55:17 [5] 6.2 km (8:55 / km)
ahr:172 max:185

Harvester Relays (Bordon Heaths), 2nd leg.
FVO - FIRST!!!! Inspired team performance, despite having to draft Trevor in less than 12 hours before the start! Legs were designated to the individuals strengths rather than trying to maximise speed which worked well for us in an area where it was all to easy to lose a lot of time very quickly.

JonX set us off to a decent start (relative to the rest of the field at least!) and I pulled us up to within 3 minutes of the leaders (and my calf survived despite a few tweaks) DC, our new signing, did the job on the long night handing over to Marcus with an 8 minute lead. Marcus managed to extend the lead to about 15 minutes and handed over to Jon M as dawn was breaking. A good strong run from him and an excellent run from Trevor meant that neither of the chasing teams (SLOW and LOK) had managed to close the gap at all. RogerG had an easy job of it on the glory leg (!) but he didn't hang around and maintained the lead as LOK and SLOW argued over the minor placings.

Great to get a second victory in what is a great team event! Hat off to Trevow for the last minute draft and to Jon for Captaining us to a well earnt victory.
