So many people would be great to work with, but at the mo all I'm interested in is helping athletes. WOC 2015 has been so overlooked by the "programme" - fortunately the athletes are still in the game!

FVO Night Race at Minewoods planned by Ben and Daniel.
Brutal race with lots of climb loops, pretty full on from the start. Various small misses due to poor map led to a cat and mouse game with Helen Bridle & Dixie - who both outsprinted me at the end. Feeling very tired and a bit of self-preservattion going on. Fun despite the high effort ;-)

Working in Inverness. Timed nicely to attend BASOCs night event on Uath Lochans. Very soft terrains with vague (poorly mapped) contours meant good compass and a bit of hoping. All good, wheezing quite a bit but o'ing Ok apart from one miss (didn't aim off suitably and undecided whether to turn left or right - made the wrong choice).
Tea at Tullies' after - and good chat ;-)

FVO Club Champs at Beecraigs, planned by GG.
Great blue course, apart from road sections at beginning, that got you through and round the better bits of the area. I pushed hard and was relatively clean but perhaps went a bit too out and round on some. Beaten by seconds by Fraser and Rog was about a minute ahead. Great competition.
Knackered after!

Dinner dance good fun too but thought the after party would knock me flat so gave it a miss.

Stealth Night O at Devilla.
Everyone bar the two elites were well aware that this area's a beast, especially at night. Thankfully neither were eaten up by the forest (just poor Ross ;-)
Hanging the last third so not really under any pressure to race and took my time to double-check sites, hunting for Pinker-sized boulders and tip-to'ing through the brambles and clear-fell.
Good banter in pub after (and that's the main point of these sessions for me :-)

Scottish Score Champs in Achlean.
Not really up for it but once I had a plan I stuck to it, nevermind the fact that Janine had a better plan (she's always better at theses score jobbies). Thankfully, by managing to run 1k further I just managed to beat her score. Phew!
Interesting fact no 764 - I don't push myself at the finish at normal events anywhere near as hard as I do when I'm late in a score event!

In Dumfries-shire for the day (Barony College) - would be rude not to accept the offer of a ride with the Boss as we're over the road from the Forest of Ae (7 Stanes). Up the red route in the deteriorating wind and rain and darkness (with headlamp). Managed one hour before bailing.

Excellent looping and gaffling on quite a small area kept things intense and fun. In a regular tussle with Jon X, got him by chance in the end when he veered off the wrong way to the finish control! :-)

Shadowing Hollie round the blue. After the first few I was confident I might be able to shadow and punch all the controls. Then she upped the pace...
Good training for both of us. Shows I have been whimping about these last few months - gotta pull my finger out to beat Rog et al at the club champs!

Pishing with rain so decided to go see what the SNH runners were doing. Chanced upon their monthly time trial!
A handicapped 2.8 mile route on road then very soggy farm track - out and back route. Agreed to follow the fastest guy there out to the turn point and see how I felt from there. Ribs feeling not too bad so kicked away and tried to reel in the 3 handicappers in front. Managed to do so with 40m to spare.
Great fun, glad I caught this session. A new PB to set next time ;-)

A leg loosener into Luncarty and round the river. Couldn't resist the sunny weather and thought it would also help loosen off the tight sholuder and neck issues (prob from lifting heavy pallets on Monday). Found some new nice wooded paths in the village.

Night O (Stealth) Training.
A cool, dry night for it. Heather not as dead as expected so was tough in parts. Fell onto my ribs at one point, thankfully my HR strap stopped any serious damage. Bruised the day after. Hector used my GP (and Ross' compass) - I dunno - these professionals! Clearly mind on other matters (fear of nurses uniform & dodgy underwear at the weekend methinks).
Pirnhall for food and banter after.

Wasn't counting on Matthew getting Hannah's sickness (Winter Vomiting Bug) ! Nor me feeling rather quesy all day yesterday and horrible headache all day today. Managed some root-ball digging and 2nd wood shed set-up pre-work so some exercise just no cardio.

A recce of Castlecary High and Low woods - an old FVO area many moons ago. I can see why it hasn't been used for a while - looks like the forest has been felled and re-planted - needs a further 5-10 years for it to be a decent map. Found some nice bits (a lovely set of crags in the middle).
