Orienteering 1:18:16 intensity: (18 @1) + (16 @2) + (2:37 @3) + (50:48 @4) + (24:17 @5) 11.23 km (6:58 / km) +429m 5:51 / km
ahr:165 max:174

Compass Sport Trophy, 2012 - Tullie Farm.
God, what a day - howling wind, driving rain and still not feeling right.
I should not be running this slow!
Managed to turn up, run, take Matthew round the string course and leave - saw very few club members ;-)

Thanks to the rest of the club we won! By the smallest of margins.
2 PM

Run warm up/down 20:00 [3]

Including the string course... pace a bit quick for me...

Saturday Sep 29, 2012 #

10 AM

Run 43:25 intensity: (40 @1) + (10:26 @2) + (17:23 @3) + (14:56 @4) 7.35 km (5:54 / km) +171m 5:17 / km
ahr:145 max:168

A test run to see how I feel.
I am on the mend from whatever it was, but tomorrow will still just be a long run in the hills rather than a race....
Thankfully, we have plenty of more able people on the brown.

6 PM

Run 30:32 intensity: (2:32 @1) + (22:49 @2) + (5:01 @3) + (10 @4) 5.09 km (6:00 / km) +73m 5:36 / km
ahr:125 max:153

Not sure what's up with me - very wheezy and can't get HR high at all.
Can't be just to do with missing 3 days of training.... kids?

Sunday Sep 23, 2012 #

Note

Feeling a bit under the weather.

Damn glad I didn't go to Errochty - 93 mins for the fastest 40, way too far!

Orienteering 39:19 intensity: (5 @1) + (2:26 @2) + (13:40 @3) + (22:23 @4) + (45 @5) 6.44 km (6:06 / km) +95m 5:41 / km
ahr:152 max:171

FVO training at Falkirk Wheel.
Great to get the whole family out on such a sunny day. Took Matthew round most of the yellow - lots of fun in the mud and playing poo sticks.

Then a blast round the green course. Didn't enjoy the cow-trod start but really enjoyed the rest. Cracking area.

Thanks to all the FVO helpers that ran today, great stuff!

More successful this time - in fact I think this Perth job is going to get me fit!

ahr:143 max:176

After 3 failures to get off my backside I eventually forced myself out of the door (well, it was such a nice day!) and when waiting for satelites decide this was a worthy day to try for a PB on the Kinnoul Route,

Set off steady as always but worked a bit harder than normal up the first set of steps on the Scone Road and then literaly just dug in from then to the top (there really isn't much let-up for nearly 15 minutes!).

Struggling to get my HR up today, no quite feeling 100% but grittily attacking things eneough to get the new time to the top - 24:44 !!!
Previous 25:04, so not much progress really ;-)

Had a breather at the top and cruised home.

Monday Sep 17, 2012 #

Run 31:00 [3]

Usual lunchtime recover run across to Kinnoull.
Failed to avoid a massive shower.

Sunday Sep 16, 2012 #

Orienteering 1:06:00 [4]

ESOC SOSOL at West Lomond Hills.
How orrible is that! Throughly hated the waist deep heather and knee high tussocks on the first half of the course.
Cheered up by the more runnable north side return section - but a bit dulled by the low technical challenge.

Thankfully Jamie whupped me by 11 minutes!

Saturday Sep 15, 2012 #

1 PM

Run 40:38 intensity: (30 @1) + (25:06 @2) + (9:37 @3) + (4:04 @4) + (1:21 @5) 6.85 km (5:56 / km) +61m 5:41 / km
ahr:136 max:173

A run from home at lunch time having been at the pool with Matthew all morning and then straight out the door (after a banana sandwich) to collect Janine and Hannah from the hospital. They're home! Although you wouldn't know it - she's so (touch wood) QUIET!!!

Got lost on Laigh Hills (can you believe it!) so out for 10 mins longer than planned.

Friday Sep 14, 2012 #

Run 48:00 [4]

Kinnoull Hill run from work.
Fair bouncing along.... until I hit the hill. No watch with me again so I'm pretty sure it was another PB!

Thursday Sep 13, 2012 #

Note
weight:3.6kg

Baby Hannah born at 12:50pm today. Her and Janine doing great. Proud Dad.

Wednesday Sep 12, 2012 #

Easy Run warm up/down 1:00:08 [2]

5 mins each. Short on time.
6 PM

Orienteering 32:00 [4] 4.0 km (8:00 / km)

Fvo's last wee of the summer at. Minewoods planned by rog. Lost too much time early on hunting for controls due to poor map but not fit enough anyway to do Daniel stansfields time of 28 or paddy's 29.

12 PM

Easy Run 30:00 [3]

Easy run from work. Tried to run round the golf course on Moncrieffe Island but it transpires the golfers don't want anybody else in there - very nettly so curtailed the full loop. Various niggles but only niggles.

Easy Run warm up/down 20:00 [3]

Went to look at the Devil's Cauldron and then jogged back down with Team Mushroom's first leg superstar.
10 AM

Fell Race 1:00:37 intensity: (1:00 @2) + (59 @3) + (26:34 @4) + (32:04 @5) 11.4 km (5:19 / km) +349m 4:37 / km
ahr:165 max:179

Comrie Hill Relays, Leg 1 for FVO's 2nd team.
Boy I deserved to be in the 3rd team! Huffing and puffing and lots of self-preservation going on. Having said that I ran all the way and felt better than expected. Managed to whack a woman in the head with my foot whilst gate crossing (I was there first!).

FVO's first team finished 5th overall and took the 1st mixed team prize!
Roger, Elsie and Fiona, Marcus and Ross (who won his leg!).

Great day out, great finish arena and bar-b. Glad I didn't drive all that way to Forvie.

Saturday Sep 8, 2012 #

Run 47:01 intensity: (6 @1) + (13:21 @2) + (17:23 @3) + (16:11 @4) 7.38 km (6:22 / km) +188m 5:39 / km
ahr:94 max:167

From Grantown house, through Free Church Wood and over the river and up to Revach for the usual loop to the viewpoint.
Still feeling tired and calfs sore.
Crap at terrain running right now!

A run from the Grantown house into Free Church Wood and Anagach.
Lovely eveninf but I was too tired for anything but easy.

Run warm up/down 8:58 intensity: (45 @1) + (7:05 @2) + (57 @3) + (11 @4) 1.05 km (8:31 / km) +25m 7:37 / km

ahr:157 max:174

FVO WEE Stirling Town.
Pushed reasonably hard on this and worked at finding decent routes. Not the best but I survived. Can't believe I beat Pinker!
Good fun but I will be sore tomorrow (and legs already throbbing from nettle stings!).
7 PM

Orienteering 13:32 intensity: (3:31 @1) + (7:28 @2) + (2:33 @3) 1.33 km (10:10 / km) +40m 8:50 / km
ahr:122 max:149

Warm down.
Collecting controls for Ben.

Tuesday Sep 4, 2012 #

1 PM

Run 48:00 [4] 7.8 km (6:09 / km)

Kinnoull Hill from work.
Feeling a bit bouncier today - could it be because I had no watch (Garmin battery low) and knew this wouldn't be against the clock?
Couldn't say that I bounded up the hill but I've felt much worse than this.

Lovely day for it.

Blue car also has a leaky cooling system, Ker Ching!

Monday Sep 3, 2012 #

12 PM

Run 30:08 intensity: (28 @0) + (1:12 @1) + (17:32 @2) + (7:17 @3) + (3:39 @4) 5.32 km (5:40 / km) +107m 5:09 / km
ahr:134 max:167

Usual recovery run from work.
Feeling terrible for the outward journey, improving up the climb and heading home.

Sunday Sep 2, 2012 #

12 PM

Run 1:13:32 intensity: (21 @1) + (24:47 @2) + (18:14 @3) + (27:51 @4) + (2:19 @5) 11.42 km (6:26 / km) +243m 5:49 / km
ahr:145 max:173

Went out to recce the damage from the storms. Down the Darn Scamble (nee Path) and a route round the hills from the pipe bridge then towards B of A - having to scale devastation in the river valley and then hop into someone's garden to avoid the chasm on Old Glen Road - how trashed is this road - so long for the excellent non-traffic commuter route between Dunblane and Bridge of Allan.

Alas....

Blue car broke down this aft on way to a walk. Good job it's now and not next week! Looks like degraded fuel lines....

Saturday Sep 1, 2012 #

12 PM

Run 51:46 intensity: (28 @1) + (32:28 @2) + (13:01 @3) + (5:49 @4) 8.25 km (6:16 / km) +184m 5:39 / km
ahr:134 max:156

Run just before lunch after a morning of biking and playparks with Matthew (bumped into Dixie recce'ing routes for the Dunblane Urban race).
Toiling again and light-headed. Enjoyed the further bit into no-man's land.
Very muddy everywhere.
