6 PM

Orienteering race 48:00 [4]

FVO WEE at Barr Wood.
Feeling stiff and slow but wanted to push hard to try out the ITB's for the weekend. Going OK but went 1 to 3 to 2 to 3 so got a bit miffed with myself. Still, I powered on and enjoyed the beautiful terrain and a different slant on a regular area - thanks Will.
Beaten by Fraser (44) and Tom (I'm just Jogging) Ryan but I know I'm not fit...... ITBs held out well.
7 PM

Run warm up/down 10:00 [2]

Trying to get rid of the lactic.....

The Yorkshire Pud and Pint helped!

Tuesday Apr 27, 2010 #

Note

Saw the physio at Physio Focus (bloody expensive) about my arm pain.
Damaged medial and lateral nerve due to excess driving and computer work.....

Monday Apr 26, 2010 #

Note

Got an ITB massage and calf massage from Janine.
Cracking.

Sunday Apr 25, 2010 #

Orienteering race 1:16:00 [5]

SOL at Dalbeattie.
What a rough, tough area! But underneath lots of good detail and rock. I wasn't fit enough for this but I do enjoy running in crap! Much helped by catching Ray Ward up on way to no.2 (3 mins) and having him push/pull me hard on the track/open sections.
I wouldn't have been so motivated without him he wouldn't have won his class;-)

T-shop in Dumfries after.

Run warm up/down 10:00 [2]

Incredibly stiff and tight.

ITB's flared up on the course too - I'm getting old!

Saturday Apr 24, 2010 #

Mountain Walk 1:45:00 [2]

After a bit of faffing at home we managed a lovely walk outside Moffat - along the hills above the Beeftub.
Most nice.

Travelodge in Dumfries for the night.

Thursday Apr 22, 2010 #

Run 40:00 [3]

Easy run at lunchtime.
Not motivated to do any intervals - chest feeling tight anyway.
Kings Park.....

Monday Apr 19, 2010 #

Run 57:00 [2]

A run out from the neighbours to celebrate Ross and Beccy's birthdays.
And then curry and beer energy replacement.
An easy stagger home for once.

Sunday Apr 18, 2010 #

Terrain Run 56:00 [4]

Terrain run with Jules from Oxen Park up to Bethecar Moor and Back. Very runnable right now. Jules psuhing the pace whilst fat boy just hung on (at least I had the map!).

Buggy walk at Grizedale in the afternoon.

Saturday Apr 17, 2010 #

Orienteering race 36:30 [5]

British Middle Champs, Haverthwaite, M40

Started well but pushed too hard when hitting the hills later on and got sloppier and sloppier. Pissed off after missing the ruined wall control and things spiralled. Should have been a good 2 minutes quicker. 4th

Run warm up/down 15:00 [3]

Thursday Apr 15, 2010 #

Run 52:08 [4]

Up to Richmond to visit Becca & Jules.
Got in a pleasant, if not a bit too fast, run with Jules round the town and into the country.
Very nice! Followed by a male buggy push session with the obligatory ice cream. Great day.
Headed back to Dunblane for sunset.

Saturday Apr 10, 2010 #

Nice pad!

Thursday Apr 8, 2010 #

Mountain Walk 50:00 [3]

Walk with J9 and Fraggle along the SW Coast path to Clovelly and back. Got a good wander through the village down to the harbour wall and returning home after snacks and ice cream.
Beautiful day but my ankle compression returned so had to hand Fraggle over to Janine for over half of the trip.

Orienteering race 32:30 [5]

O race on the technical area called Wheal Florence near Plympton, Plymouth. Cracking little 4.2 km course with some excellent full on orienteering.

A bit sloppy near the end so came 4th - 2 mins off 2nd and 7 mins off GG.

Run warm up/down 15:00 [3]

Tuesday Apr 6, 2010 #

Mountain Bike 5:00:00 [2]

Cycled the Tarka Trail with the family.
48km on a situpandbeg bike.
Stopped for egg & chips and a pint at the far end and then pushed it a bit harder back.

Tired from the weekend's exertions.

Monday Apr 5, 2010 #

Orienteering race 45:00 [4]

JK Relay, 2nd team on old folks course.
I was a broken man from the previous two days so was happy to get round without further damage - other than pride - my o'ing was pretty attrocious.

Run warm up/down 15:00 [3]

Sunday Apr 4, 2010 #

Orienteering race 1:11:00 [5]

Day 3 of JK on Braunton Burrows.
Despite the illegible map I ran pretty well - only making a mistake when there was a missing path on the map. Happy with how I ran but feeling my calf and groin and lack of training in last 2 weeks. 4th but pulled up to finish 6th overall - more like it......

Run warm up/down 10:00 [3]

Late for the start!

Saturday Apr 3, 2010 #

Orienteering race 1:12:00 [5]

Day 2 of JK in Cockworthy of Nothing Forest.
Late start and very muddy - went off hard and slipped/slo'd all over the shop. Eneded up pulling my calf and groin. Mistake half way round where a poorly clipped cicle hid a clearing in front of the clearing I was heading for. Then flunked the next control and 5 mins lost in total - hence way down in 13th place.

Run warm up/down 10:00 [3]

Friday Apr 2, 2010 #

Run 20:00 [3]

Jog about the caravan site and a bit of the Coast Path - muddy!

Thursday Apr 1, 2010 #

Note

Half day of work and then driving to Devon.

Got as far as Kier roundabout and joined the queues to Birmingham.

Will's birthday today. Well, it should have been ;-)
