Ukol at Pembrey. Not really up for this. Tried for first third then lost the will to live on the path running. Ground it out to the finish but not in race mode.

British Night Champs, Merthy Mawr. Concentrated on safe routes and trying to be clean. Pep'd up by catching Brad at 2/3 and managed to run strong to the end and not throw it away. M 45 British Champ again! Whoop, whoop !

FVO Night Race at Little Druim Wood/Duncraggan planned by Trevor. A seriously tough race through mud and bog and marsh and bog and marsh and a few trees. Did I say bog? Thoroughly enjoyed the head to head with Brad (until he nodded off) and Fanni and battling over the tough ground. A really good hard workout. Maybe a little too hard for me just the now!

Some map and terrain training in Polmaise and Murray's Wood. Lovely underfoot conditions (if a little soggy) meant a nice circuit of Murrays Wood before a walk to the top of the crags and some downhill O back to the car. Body tired but enjoying being in the forest, some lovely features visited for the first time.

Big Brunch at Granddad's perked me up ;-)

Run down the Darn whilst the family walked. Down to B of A then up other side into the Triple Hills (Knock, Fort & Gallow) back across pipe bridge and up the rhody path to new path at top then through woods to top of golf course and back along eastern edge. Lovely! Climb is a guess.

Working, but too nice to not escape out. Birnam Hill loop. A bit surprised by the amount of snow (4-5 inches on north side) and so quite a shock to the system (temperature, gradient, underfoot conditions) but boy it was fun!

Family run off road at the Lagoon - last of the week! Hannah and Matthew have been brilliant attending morning gymnastics every day and running straight after - before doing other activities. Great week. Time to fly.

Duathlon Team Inman. Janine swimming strongly but held back by wrong-lane punters to do 7 minutes for 8 lengths. No wind! Meant hard work on the climb but flat out on the descent - ran out of gears! Only passed by two folk.

Run 20:01 [4] 4.6 km (4:21 / km)

5k road run to La Santa and back. Legs a jelly, tried hard but calfs screaming and heat taking its toll. Only passed by one person right at beginning as I'd lost sensation in my hands and couldn't tie my shoe laces. So glad when that was over!

Somebody entered me for the kayak race in the heat of the day whilst the rest of the family were siesta'ing. Thankfully, it wasn't too busy and my technique held out for a 2nd place. Certificate!!!!

Aquathlon. Inman grudge match. Worked hard on swim knowing Janine is in her best shape for this. Struggling with keeping my fried egg down on the run bit sighted J9 and knew I'd reel her in. Got her by the disco then cruised home to take local victory.

Junior Aquathlon. M swam a really excellent 100m then it was over to H for the 1k run. She excelled too, overhauling a much bigger boy and sprint finishing like a pro. So proud. Ice cream celebrations!

Road bike opportunity. Out to Ghost Town, Soo then up to Munique & Tiagua. Amazing wind assist on this which meant the most incredible head-on gale from Mancha Blancha back. Worked hard so I could get the bike back for 6. :-p

FVO Night o Abbey Craig. Long course for first time this year. Loved the terrain and the o but really struggled with the climbs. One bad bearing near the end saw me lose Fraser & Gary. Tough!

Stirling Schools XC Champs today. On the bus with the 37 P6s and P7s from Newton Primary School (including one Jamie Connor).
Really good day out, light snow on the ground, good wee mile course at Bannockburn High. The kids did great, far better than Brad and I can take credit for after just three weeks into the new running club. Jamie O 1st and Scott 2nd in the P6 Boys race being the highlight of the day. Really impressed with the positive attitude of all 37 kids! Fab!

Terrain run with Dixie in Kia Estate.
Fabulous place, as always, with great underfoot conditions. He knows every centimetre of this forest - made for a good session, but I ran out of steam after 30 minutes. Need to come back.

Orienteering hill training course planned by Mark Holliday on the Hermitage. By golly it was steep and slippery and slidey. Just attempted to get round without overcooking things. Went to 6 before 4 but didn't lose much time. Cocked up by not punching the start!
