Orienteering race 1:19:33 [4] 10.46 km (7:36 / km)

Northern Champs on Bigland.
Nervous about this -would my body hold out, would I have the fitness to survive. Took a Pro Plus and manned up. Promptly blew 2 minutes at no 1 but now I was in the terrain and loving it. Worked well all the way and chuffed with another solid result - 2nd behind Stevey B.
Still in one piece! :-)

BOC Nights Great Tower.
Fab tough course planned by Derek. I managed to survive it with my old Silva Headlamp (need to get something better as I really could not see at all!!). Survived with few major hiccups but still surprised to squeeze a third behind James and Stevey B. Chuffed!

A snowy run with Brad from home. Too much snow to do anything but work from home but not willing to miss a run in the snow. Willing partner a few doors down :-)
Up through the terrain and then footpaths to the Gathering Stone where I was wilting so took a direct route back. Fun!

FVO Night Race Barr Wood
Empty of energy from the start (diets don't work!). So took it steady and aimed to finish. I was pretty pathetic from start to finish.
Devoured the pie at the Torbrex!

SOA Nights Darnaway.
Priority 1 - protect calf and don't get injured.
Priority 2 - Don't stuff up.

Failed dramatically at 2. Pants!

Ran 7.7k faffed about 5 controls, got stuck in lots of poorly mapped veg!

Did about 10 hours of exercise. Nothing of note. Trying to rebuild calf and avoid further issues. Pulled groin playing youngsters at Badminton!

From Garage to work. Passat in again because of garage incompetence in balancing tyres. At least I get some non-running training out of it. Sleeting snow and lying on the ground. Zero degrees. Cold and wet, glad I took my overshoes.

FVO Pilates & Circuits - drove there because of calf and pishing rain.
Took care of calf and worked harder than normal (not very) on the rest of the body. I'm always exceptionally tired at this session....

Shadowing Matthew round the Yellow course at Muiravonside.
Nice map! Calf OK.

Started the Green course - aim to go carefully and look after calf....
Strain came on on a downhill hard track, despite jogging. Quickly got more painful. Walked back from there.
Pah!

Race race 45:06 [4] 9.3 km (4:51 / km)

Angela's Aberfoyle Trail Race.
Warmed up OK with Sarah and Fanni and started fairly hard. Sadly the calf tightened after 4k so I eased up big time and cruised the rest -letting lost of people past. (Should have been sub 42).
I only enjoyed the muddy bits - hater the tarmac(!) and firm tracks - so did the calf. No hills tomorrow :-(
