Running race 54:00 [5] 8.6 mi (6:17 / mi)
shoes: Asics GT-2130

This was tough. Running 1st leg of Edinburgh Marathon Relay from Regent Road to Mussie Links. Blister sore and legs tired. Started too fast as the first 2km was straight downhill. Hit the wall big time at Seafield before a 2mile slog into very strong wind along the coast. Crawled through 10km in 39.42 before hanging on in pain to the finish. Reckon if I was feeling a bit better and was fresh for the race with good conditions I would knock a good 3-4 mins off that time. Also bodes well for a good 10k when Im feeling a bit better. At least I didnt have to run the scottish relays.

Spent the afternoon watching the Giro and not revising, stupid dopers taking up all the top 5 spots in GC so I couldnt care less who wins as long as its a good race and it isnt Di Luca.

Scottish Champs Individual

Had the biggest moral dillema of my life before I had even started. Was 10s from off, when I saw spongey who started 4mins before run back through the start area. Other people had done this while taking an epic route choice so I assumed that was what he was up to. Just before the final beep he picked up another map and ran off meaning I had effectivly caught 4mins on him without having ran a meter. I decided to do the Jesus like thing and not follow him to the finish for an ill gotten title. Everyone who I talked to after even Spongey, were surrised I didnt go for the follow, but I bet it would have been different had I actually done the cheater option.

Went on to screw up the 1st control by 1min before spiking 2,3,4,5. I was 200m too high on the uber slope, hunting for a crag halfway up Schiealion when it clearly wasnt very high up the slope in reality. Nearly died of overheating on the 120m climb leg to No.9 so went skins as my scotjos top is crap for running in this type of heat. Pretty much spiked the rest of the course exept 30s to No.12 and getting extreme blisters for the last 15mins. The last bit to the East and North was tidy, the south bit was shit and the western forest was average.

Yet another shocking performance, slow and mistakey. Im glad I dont need to look at another map for a wee while now.

Running 10:00 [3] 1.5 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: Jalas Black FLX

Speedy run to start after forgetting SI Card first time round.

Geography today, piss easy, exept the first part of the map question when I was too busy looking at an area to the north of the map which looked pretty awesome for orienteering - then adain it was in the South East of England so it probably wasnt as nice as it looked.

Legs feel stiff and I really cant be bothered training right now.

revising for Geography

much cramming is needed, plus the weather is minging.

Was gonna play tennis this morning but it was cold so it turned into Virtua Tennis instead, way more fun anyway.

Got the call offering me a run in the junior league down in Gayeshead tis sunday, but cant go coz i agreed ages ago to run a leg of the marathon relay for my dads charity. It would have been an awesome chance for a 3k or 2k s/c
PB what with the 16 man fields in all distance races and the very fast fields, at least ive got another 4 years, not including this one in which to race in the league.
