Running 43:00 [2] 7.0 km (6:09 / km) +250m 5:13 / km
shoes: Puma Trailfox

Went out early before starting revision - English Exam on Thursday.

The top of the Seat was in the clouds and it was really cool because it didnt feel like I was in the middle of the city. Felt very slow and weak, still just getting back to fitness. I need to be strong now for the scottish champs as itll be my last chance to prove my case for the Jircs team, 6 guys for 4 places in M18 when last year we could barely field a team in M18 and I ended up 2nd Scot in 18 at jircs and jhi.

Giro has strated and will run right through exam leave with live coverage of every stage. I thought by holding out on buying GTA 4 I was gonna get some revision done. Maybe not.......

Didnt feel totally satisfied with my run this morning and was a bit bored after a load of studying so went for a wee cruise round Blackford. Quite a lot of climbing up and down the steep banks.

Scottish Sprint Champs

Legs felt very sore beforehand so just ran steady and tried to minimise mistakes. Spiked the first couple, overshot 4 losing a very valuable 10s. Left 5 the wrong way, 10s more. Then wrong route to 16, couple more seconds. Had a very slow start and was 1 min down on Stu and No.7 despite only making around 15s of mistakes.

Felt very unfit with illness and injury recently so plan was to run cleanly and a win would be a bonus. Ended up losing to Stu by 11s and so lost my quest for the grandslam of scottish titles. Very wet and slippy, mustve lost a good 30s on wimping out on the ice like pavements, although everyone good was running after the rain aswell. Reckon I was a good minute slower than normal on running but still better than Tuesday when I couldn't run at all.

Local Event at Dreghorn Barracks and part of the North Pentlands. First 3 controls were map memory only no one told me there was a blank map to look at so I made a total mess of it as it had the course on a gray background and the legs were made so straight wasnt a good idea. Next controls were a slog up in the fields over the by pass where I had no pace at all. I caught my brother up on the corridor and dropped him. I missed No.9 in the woods and he caught me. I took a different route to 10 and he gained 10s. I got away to 11 but messed 12 up so he got back to me. We deliberatly chose different routes in the mini score at the end so I got away at the end.

The area around the baracks and the woods has real sprint o potential but just needs re mapped using ISSOM so as it is easier to read, also the 1:10000 scale didnt help that. Quite Fun but I was way slow.

Note
(injured)

Started my run and could straight away feel the same pain on the bottom of my foot below my ankle. Packed it in after 2 mins as it was just too sore. Dunno what it is coz ive never felt this kind of pain or in this part of my foot. Kinda sucks coz ive never had a real injury that wasnt just from some sort of impact in all of my 7 years of running. Hope it heals up fast as I dont want to miss another weekend of training. Cant feel a thing normally, it just starts to hurt when I run.

Note

According to the pace calculator for my 3k time for this time last year I should do a 38.09 10k, so thats a good aim, tho I reckon my 3k is due for a good beating, might go down to meadowbank when I feel a bit better and try one out.

Running 44:00 [1] 7.5 km (5:52 / km) +80m 5:34 / km
shoes: Asics GT-2130

Went for a run with my pal roung Queens Drive and down from Dunsapie through Meadowfield Park. Feet really sore below the ankleson the outsides and knees and shins sore, but ill put that down to being out of practice. Very slow with a few walks when legs got particulartly sore. Nice day and good to get out. The whole way was packed with people out.
