Trail/terrain running 1:50:39 [3] ***** 16.86 km (6:34 / km)
shoes: 2009 Twisters

Spiken Trophy. Club's annual 'silly' race. Messed up map and cryptic clues. I muddled round, worked out a few, and then followed the right people. Won the sprint finish :)

Trail/terrain running intervals 40:00 [5] 6.6 km (6:04 / km)
ahr:168 max:180 shoes: 2009 Integrators

10 times 3 minutes, 1 min recovery. All in terrain from the club house. Bit of snow on the ground, but not too much. Quite warm. Felt good.

Trail/terrain running warm up/down 22:00 [3] 3.93 km (5:36 / km)
shoes: 2009 Integrators

Run to club house and back. Left hammy bit tight, ok though.

Climbing 1:30:00 [1]

Did my first proper 6a route today was well happy. Did half a 6b too :)

Note
(rest day)

Saw Fuel - interesting documentary about, guess what, fuel. Promoting bio-fuel, renewable fuel sources etc. Very aimed at dumb middle americans, but in fairness every dumb middle american should watch this as well as every dumb middle person in every other country.
Then saw Tale 52, a Greek film about love, rejection, descent in madness. Strange. Had Q and A session with director after.

Note

Saw Is Anybody There (sweet Michael Caine film) and The Good, The Bad and The Wierd - maybe my favourite film of the year! Brilliant Asian western, really entertaining and funny.

Road/track running warm up/down 22:18 [3] 4.2 km (5:19 / km)
shoes: 2009 White Saucony

21 laps - warm up and warm down. Indoor track. Plus long stretching

Road/track running intervals 23:35 [4] 4.0 km (5:54 / km)
shoes: 2009 White Saucony

Pyramid session with Jay - 200,400,600,800,600,400,200 with laps in between at his speed. Calf felt good so ...

Road/track running intervals 12:37 [5] 3.0 km (4:12 / km)
shoes: 2009 White Saucony

8 times 200m in between 29 and 31 seconds, with 200m jogging in between (approx 75 secs). Felt great! Really tough but calf was fantastic :)

Best session since the injury.

Strength and conditioning 2:00:00 [1]

An hour with the physio, including some massage, plus some biking, core and general strength stuff. Knackered, calf sore now - good session

Note

4 films today - The Possibility of an Island (disappointing), Tokyo! (fantastic), In Bruges (very entertaining), The Argentine (interesting but getting a bit filmed out)

Trail/terrain running 58:35 [2] 8.83 km (6:38 / km)
ahr:120 shoes: Innov8s

SNOW!!!!

Steady run with Jay, who is staying this week for the festival.

Saw Be Kind Rewind (DVD) and then Happy-Go-Lucky and W. at the fest.

Note

I say SNOW!!!!, but actually there is about 20cm, which makes running a bit tricky, but fun :)
