Note
(sick)

A few days ago Maya was properly sick with a stomach bug she picked up from another baby. Yesterday morning Laura came down with, and by late afternoon it was my turn. Went to bed at 10 with bloated and aching stomach was being sick at midnight, and finally fell asleep at 4am. Maya and Laura are fine now, so hopefully I will be too by the end of the day.

Annoyingly it means we all have to miss the first of BOK's Nav Racing the Forest Series events at BOK's newest area Rocks East.

Run - Road race (Weston Prom Race) 29:26 [5] 5.0 mi (5:53 / mi)
shoes: Inov-8 Road-X 233

I missed the first race of the season last month, so joined it in race 2.

Started off at my usual 3:30 pace but soon realised that I'm not in good enough condition to sustain that for 5 miles so dropped down a little to a more comfortable pace. Felt like a real struggle to maintain even that pace until the third leg when a Clevedon guy overtook me and I was forced to give chase. From that point on I realised I had more to give and was just being a great big pansy and not pushing myself enough. Had a fast final km and dropped my challenger like a stone.

Still about 75 seconds down on my pb from February.

'Barefoot' running 2. Week 15 session 2

Run - Road warm up/down ('Barefoot' running 2) 20:00 [2] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 Road-X 233

Week 15 session 2.

Before and after the race.

Run - Road ('Barefoot' running 2) 1:00:00 [3] 14.0 km (4:17 / km) +100m 4:08 / km
shoes: Inov-8 Road-X 233

Week 15 session 1.

After a week off the road running. Well I wasn't going to go all the way to Scotland to run on the roads, was I?

Figure of eight around the Downs then dropped down Stoke Hill and did a section through Stoke the Bishop and Coombe Dangle.

Run - Off road (Monday night run) 1:17:58 [3] 13.94 km (5:36 / km) +297m 5:03 / km
shoes: Inov8 Roclite 295

Team Monday from the Bath headquarters. First Team Monday with head torches for me since last winter.

Just the two Marks and Matt this evening, with a separate girlie drive-and-run. Did a long climb out of Bath to the north, around the race course, and back along the Wotscold way. Nice run, but was feeling drained of energy. Feeling yesterday in my legs and didn't enough during the day. The takeaway pizza and chocolate jack flap were very welcome afterwards.
