Skiing (Okemo) 1:25:00 [3] 14.3 mi (5:57 / mi) +3715m 3:17 / mi
ahr:81 max:122

Alpine skiing with Kenny, Samantha and Eliza. Moderately crowded with some wait in liftlines, 10 min initally and then 5 min after that. Beautiful day in the 20's.

Biath: 20 prone @ 30m 4", first 10 within 1.8". Need to fix glasses.

Road Running 1:02:23 intensity: (20:00 @3) + (42:23 @4) 5.75 mi (10:51 / mi) +85m 10:22 / mi
ahr:142 max:158

Clear and within a fraction of 0F. Even so wearing a little too much.
Loop around N Springfield with Joe's group, who moved at a considerably faster pace. Included a few 1-3 min pickups, but really not that much faster. Biggest difference is whether I'm going up or down hills.
4 PM

Skate Ski (Kingdom Valley) 36:22 [3] 5.17 km (7:02 / km) +20m 6:54 / km
ahr:111 max:146

At dusk with Kenny.

Note

Saw ortho for followup yesterday and talked about progress on injury. Then discussed tricep tendon issue and swollen bursa. Word was to lay off the heavy duty pull downs and double poling for a week or so. And try the ibuprofen tactic of 3 x 600 mg daily for a week.

Then today saw a different ortho who the first had referred me to a month ago. This was the hamstring specialist at Dartmouth Hitchcock for athletes. Talked to a resident and then him for awhile. MRI shows periferal attachment remaining, so the tendon is not retracting. Since I no longer have any pain, scar tissue has filled in the open spots and the existing tissue has healed after 7 months. That means I can start beating up on it to see if I can regain strength. It's unlikely to fully tear at this point, but if it does the tendon will not have retracted and repair is possible. Surgery now was not recommended.

Skate Ski 37:11 [3] 5.26 km (7:04 / km) +30m 6:52 / km
ahr:88 max:109

In the fields chasing Molly.
Then some snow farming moving piles from the driveway onto a thin spot on the trails with the front end loader.

Note

Groomed with the Tiddtech on marginal snow. Packed the base on all the trails, with grass sprouting up. Skiable on rock skis, no dirt showing. Will be great with another 2".

Skate Ski 50:20 [3] 5.17 km (9:45 / km) +50m 9:18 / km
ahr:107 max:138

Grassy.

Skate Ski (Craftsburry) 1:13:00 [2] 9.82 km (7:26 / km)
ahr:90 max:146

Laps around Craftsbury to loosen up. They got enough snow so all the trails are skiable, with some scratchy sections.

Then onto the biathlon range, with new Baby Blue rifle. Shot prone against the larger targets (4.5" at 50m), so it was pretty reasonable. Went 5/5 on one clip, maybe try the actual smaller prone targets (1.8") next time. Biggest challenge is getting down and back up from prone with skis still attached -- need some flexibility work.

Got okay snow at home, so ready to ski there on rock skis.
