Skate Ski warm up/down 23:41 [2] 2.15 km (10:59 / km) +34m 10:11 / km

Checking out skis for 6F. Turns out cold wax wasn't so good and I went with HF6 blue for 20ish temps. Good thing as bright spring sun quickly warmed everything up.
9 AM

Skate Ski race (Craftsbury Spring Fling) 1:06:38 intensity: (20:38 @3) + (20:00 @4) + (26:00 @5) 15.09 km (4:25 / km) +332m 3:59 / km

Skate race on good snow. Wax worked well. Last week at 6500' helped the wind on the hills. Satisfied with the race, but always need to work on recovering power and bounce.
11 AM

Skate Ski warm up/down 52:50 [3] 7.53 km (7:01 / km) +135m 6:26 / km

Cooling down after race, and then more after lunch. By then the temp was pushing 40F, but the HF6 was still running okay on the fresh snowpack. Really nice spring skiing.

Note

Late night, early morning, long day. But good to be back home and see snow here, too.

Also getting in the major components -- pump, housings, RO membranes -- for my sap reverse osmosis concentration system. Now need to pick up a prefilter, tubing and fittings and away we go.

Skate Ski (Tahoe Donner) 1:09:00 [3] 10.6 km (6:31 / km)

Early quick loop around TD with Greg. Groomed last night and set up solid. Still had on HF10 which was a little warm, but still okay. Straight up to the top and around towards the downhill area. Great tour in blue sky spring conditions. Doesn't get better than this.

And off to Reno for the flight home. See how the snow looks there. Then the Craftsbury 15k race on Sunday.

Skate Ski (Tahoe Donner) 1:50:00 [3] 12.79 km (8:36 / km)

Morning ski with Ruthie and Greg down into Eurer Valley in falling snow. Tried to follow PistenBully track, but snow was coming down fast. Ended up skating in a couple inches of powder and the trip up out of the Valley was in 3-4". Very tiring.
1 PM

Skate Ski 58:00 [3] 7.91 km (7:20 / km)

After lunch another go at it. Snow had tapered off, but was well piled up on the trails. Short heavy loop and was about to head in when we saw a snowmobile go by pulling a groomer. Followed behind and the wet snow was perfectly packed. Did another loop and broke off when he headed down into the Valley.

Road Running (Glenshire) 1:05:55 [3] 8.04 km (8:12 / km)

On the nice bike path towards Truckee with Greg. Felt winded on the first small uphill, then okay and easy along the river. Coming back felt good and had a pickup coming up the end of the climb from the river valley.

Rainy all day so no skiing. Cleared late afternoon after a little slushy snowfall and then good for the run.

After lunch with Carol and Ruthie, too.
