Skate Ski (Grafton Ponds) 1:42:28 [3] 13.15 km (7:48 / km) +171m 7:19 / km
Shoveled this morning to divert lingering water and filled in some bare patches on the trails.
Decided to ski elsewhere today, so Ruthie and I headed to Grafton. Had a man made loop in the field for 1/3 km, and rock hard natural and trucked snow on other trails. Not any better than home, but different.
Annoying they groom thin cover with a PistenBully and pull up lots of golf ball sized rocks to mix in with the snow. Stopped and tossed a dozen into the woods. They need to walk the trails in these conditions and clean up. Otherwise the rocks will still be in the mix when we get more snow and there is 6" cover, with a surprise grapefruit poking through. Just before closing the PistenBully headed out and I followed for 3 km. Best skiing all day, despite the rocks.
Persisted and got in enough to take me over 300 km so far this season. Very pleased with this, considering I spent the summer on crutches.
