running 25:00 [3]

At the Gold Coast. This was a run on the treadmill - did it because I've never run on a treadmill before and wanted to try it out!! I only went super slowly (legs very tired from yesterday) but it was quite boring.

Strength and Conditioning 30:00 [3]

Core in the gym after running

pool running 5:00 [3]

Tiny pool run with muck. Probably not worth logging but I will anyway! I'm sure it was super good recovery ;)

running hills 1:15:00 [5]

Hill intervals at bullecourt. Did sets of 1,2,3,4,4,3,2,1 of running hard up the hill (~1min) as well as hard back down. A few mins jog recovery between sets. (Don't know if that description makes sense). Omg it was super hard. Did a very short warm up and down because it was getting dark and mother and father were waiting. And also the forest was really freaking me out.

Note
(rest day)

At grannie's farm near Stanthorpe. Feeling very tired and dizzy today, not really sure why...I haven't forgotten about taking my iron pills yet so it shouldn't be that! Had a restful day anyway.

orienteering race 50:00 [5]

Day 5. Actual race time of ~39 min plus short warm up and no warm down. A bit of a sloppy/hesitant run - wasn't confident enough in my ability to navigate! Caught moth on the way to #2 so was super aware of her and probably wasn't concentrating on where I was going because suddenly I realised I'd lost contact to #3, but then I turned around and saw a control and it was mine!! Massive fluke. After that though I was a bit too scared of losing contact like that again so I was too cautious and "safe", which isn't good. It was really fun though and at least I didn't have any major blow outs like yesterday! :)

orienteering race 1:10:00 [5]

Day 4 plus warm up...and no warm down. Oh LORD I had a shocker!!! Plus a mispunch - during one of my larger mistakes while I was thrashing through the green I stumbled upon my number 11 and so got it and continued on until I realised a bit later I never got number 10!! You're allowed to drop one day through, so I didn't go back for it. Thinking too much about running fast and not enough about navigating today. Determined to get it right tomorrow!

orienteering race 1:12:00 [5]

Day 3, including warm up and down. Actual race was about 37min. Made one large (~3min) error again and then a few other small 30second mistakes. But apart from that I felt good and it was really fun!! So glad my orienteering enjoyment has come back!!

Edit: turns out my big mistake was actually more like 5mins! Oops.

orienteering race 1:10:00 [5]

Day 2 of Xmas 5 day. Includes longer warm up and down. Racing time was ~33min. It was super fun! Took a poor route choice early but apart from that I was going ok until just near the end where I dropped >3min when I overshot a control. Rookie! Managed to still beat mother. She's keeping me on my toes!
