orienteering 55:00 [3]

Club training out at...rocky paddock or something like that. Really pretty out there! Super open pine forest with lots of rock.
Just did a shortish course at a moderate pace, and then another shortish course with a contour only map, at a slower pace. Navigation was good! Though was off a little on my compass for some. Felt not too bad physically. Thought I'd be screwed after 4 days in a row of solid running...must be all the beef I'm eating ;)

Long run, got the bus out to Morialta again to explore. This time found the tracks I was looking for! :D So did a loop around the 'falls' and gorge and stuff, plus some more on random tracks to make it up to 90mins. Was super nice! Really nice views, and the single tracks were heaps of fun. A few more hills than I'm used to though, and had to walk up one steep one...but apart from that I felt quite good and wasn't that tired at the end.

Warm up and down. Wanted to do a bit longer for the warm down, but got a stitch!

orienteering race 18:55 [5]

Sprint at UniSA Mawson Lakes. So fun! Feel like I haven't done a sprint in ages, and it was a fun course :D Felt very blah running, so wasn't going quite the speed I'd like to be in a sprint, but at least it meant my navigation was all good.
Can't believe it's a week til the NOL! Eeeek!

Caught the bus out to Morialta from my apartment to do a hill session! Had only seen a dodgey map of Morialta on the internet, so didn't really have any idea where I was going...wanted to see the gorge and waterfalls (if that's even what's in Morialta...) but must have gone the wrong way as I only saw a steep spur!
Anyway, did 6x2min hills on a single track I found. Felt really bad to be honest, legs were super heavy, so just took it a little easier.

Looks like there are a lot of good hills out there though! Should be excellent training....though unfortunately the whole expedition took me 3hrs (including walking to the bus stop and waiting for a bus etc etc), so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to get out there when Uni hits.

This sounds silly, but I somehow didn't realise it was raining outside until I was on the street with my bike...doesn't matter though, riding in the rain isn't that bad! Just went along the river, only meant to do a short ride today so didn't get to explore much. But did find a weird park with all these models of...stuff. It was a little random.

Headed out from my apartment to the Torrens and went west along the bike path. Did 8x400 hard, 400 easy jog recovery. Had expected there would just be a concrete path along the river, but found a sick little dirt single track! And it was the perfect length so did the efforts along it. Was super fun! And hardly saw anyone once I was a 5min run from the city...sweet :D
Expected to feel crappy after the stress of moving, but actually was able to push pretty hard. So tired in the warm down though!
