Tiny morning jog to go look at the car burning at the top of our driveway (thanks to some bogans) ....and then felt quite under the weather for the rest of the day so I've decided to finally accept that I'm sick/getting sick and need some rest - really hope it's short-lived!

Sprint in Castlemaine plus warm up and down. Still feeling a bit mentally exhausted but managed ok today. Also I actually won the race - everyone else went through an uncrossable fence when in fact I went a (very long) way around it. Cost me about 1.5mins! So I am the winner ;)

3x15min tempo. Moving this session up a notch by doing it on hilly tracks, rather than on the flat bike path in Melb. So we ran on the goldfields track from...somewhere... to Castlemaine. It was nice! Took a little while to get going. Pretty smoked after.

Warm up, sprint into spring course 1, 5min jog, sprint into spring course 2, warm down. Skimped on the warm up and down a bit today because the weather was really quite bad. Ran ok in the "race", took a couple of bad route choices....about a minute behind the fasties so need to get.....faster!!

Easy run. Felt good and this run would have been really nice if I didn't have a million mosquito bites!! My legs got completely raped by mosquitos in Ballarat yesterday and the bites were soooo sooo itchy on this run and it was really unpleasant.

Oing at petticoat with a small group. Did a warm up putting tapes out and then ran the Aus middle course from last year with Tash. We ran moderately hard (or it was moderately hard for me at least haha) and compared some different route choices. i probably should have done a bit more after this, but guess I don't want to overload myself too quickly ;)

Aus long. Bad start - dropped 2min at number 1! I think I started talking myself out of it yesterday - I really need to keep working on feeling confident and using positive self talk before races. Anyway, recovered ok after no1 and the next half of the race was only ok - a few more 1min errors and one mid-leg wander. Then ~2/3 of the way through Tash and Jo caught me and we were together until the end. Legs weren't feeling great today (too nervous beforehand I think) so I kept thinking I'd let Tash/Jo go but then I'd catch them again/manage to hang on. Happy with the result but oh my god I don't think I can find 9mins on Jo!!
