orienteering race 18:33 [5]

Wuoc sprint. Pretty tough area! Really hard to read/interpret the map at speed and I often had to stop and peer and the ramps/stairs on the map. My run was pretty sloppy and I kinda felt like I never got into top gear, but I think that was the same for everyone. Took two poor route choices though and did lose some time there.

Ran a course at...a map near Miskolc. There was a freaking huge storm when we went out and it was so scary Krystal and I pretty much just ran together the whole way until I lost her in some green and freaked out. Then I got a bit over it and went better towards the end. But it still wasn't really an ideal session!

Haha today I did something really funny. Number two was halfway across the map, and I got almost to it when I decided I was feeling crap so turned around to cut the course short. Got almost to the finish when I decided that no, I feel ok, so I turned around again and went back to number 2 and onwards a bit further before coming back to the finish. Haha!!

Karst cup day 2. Ok, apart from two controls I was way happier with how I was navigating compared to yesterday. Wasn't running hard but I actually understood where I was going.......apart from two REALLY bad controls. I'll just ignore them haha

Dammit!! I wanted to do under 20 :( however my excuses are that the course wasn't very fast - had four sets of turn arounds (which totally slow you down heaps! ;)) plus two sections of mud/grass...and also I'm not used to running hard this early ;) at least I won a free movie pass!

Ok I think I needed an extra day of recovery before this. Legs got very tired and it was just an overall crap session. Not sure why my legs were so poopy.....at least this session was good for learning to push when tired ahah

Xc relay. Pretty shite conditions: muddy, wet, and very windy! This was really fun though and I was glad to just do one lap this time haha. Pretty happy with my time considering the conditions and the fact I had raced a 10k two days before

Also finally got a distance measurement on the course and it's 100m over, which means the 10k was actually 10.2 (a very important difference haha)

Mmm didn't race very well. I've never done a 10k before so didn't know how to run it and kinda just....did it. In a meh kinda way. Think I could probably go quite a bit faster, plus the course was actually longer than 10k and it was very windy ;)
