Not a good session, had no power in the legs when trying to go fast...but needed the exercise so just did the session anyway, even though it was very blah.
Very warm today! What a lovely winter Adelaide has :)

A very, very easy jog along the river, with some stops. Meant to do hill ints today but legs were feeling empty and I was struggling pretty hard...so decided to make this a recovery session so I can hopefully smash a quality session tomorrow!

Caught the bus to morialta for a longish long run. It was a really nice sunny day today, which was awesome! Unfortunately my calves were extremely tight and sore at the start (lots of climb at the start, went up some spur on a track that I think goes towards black hill?) so I had to stop a lot to try and calm them down. They were fine once I had gone downhill for a while. The rest of the run was really good and I felt pretty good at the end. Annoyed that my calves were so bad at the start though - they ruined what would have otherwise been a solid run!

Saw $20 sitting on the bike path, with no possible owner in sight, but for some reason I just stared at it then kept riding past....what the hell is wrong with me?!? Bah!

20/40 session along the river. Struggled with the first set, then had a longer rest and the other sets were a bit better. Still felt a bit tired in the legs!

Went to find a good "hill" to do reps on somewhere close to where I live. Sussed out montefiore hill first but was being picky and didn't like it so went elsewhere (not included in running time). Eventually just did hill sprints on a slope, not very steep at all but meh whatever. Think it was still a good session to get the legs going over quickly.
Saw a massive rat swimming in the river :/

Caught the bus to Morialta for a lovely run in the wind and rain! A bit shorter than my previous long runs, but at a higher intensity. Felt alright, and found all the hills weren't tooooooooo bad! It was really fun, but I got soaked and was consequently pretty cold on the bus trip home.....had planned to catch the train to run in Belair tomorrow but may ditch that idea if it's raining again (which it looks like it probably will be!).

Ohhhh it's been too long since I've gone for a ride! Only a short one today, but went up the river at a nice easy pace. Very enjoyable :) have been feeling a bit off all day, I think because I didn't feel like having dinner last night after running so just went to bed....that was probably a rookie error.

Strength and Conditioning 20:00 [3]

A shorter than normal session, of only core stuff. Feeling a bit weak so this was all I did.

Arrows ints yay! I did mona fartlek while Bridget and Simon did 200s and the others just jogged around the track. Was feeling a bit bleugh warming up but glad I pushed through to do the whole session. Totally stuffed after!! Garmin says pace wasn't too bad for the efforts so that's ok...

Soooooooooo tired today, I think the whole week caught up to me. The race was a massive slog, and I was just too tired to navigate well so made numerous 2min errors. Disappointed!

First leg of the relay. I felt alright running so was able to do this at a pretty good pace, but unfortunately my navigation was just awful and i was running around totally out of control. Anyway, I ended up miss-punching :(

Total amount of orienteering for the day. Time includes: putting out controls, shadowing juniors for two exercises, collecting controls, collecting a night O control we forgot to get last night plus doing some short intense O-intervals.
Felt ok running for the whole day, and the O intervals were really fun!

Putting out the night O controls in the daylight, plus collecting them at night after everyone had done the night relay. Collecting them in the dark was scary, so i ran really fast!

Same session as not that long ago: 10x20/40s, 8x20/40s, 6x20/40s, 4x20/40s and 2x20/40s, not going super flat out in the efforts. Didn't feel too frisky today and legs felt empty pretty early. Had to really talk myself into doing the whole session....glad i did though, and was pretty stuffed after.

Mona fartlek along the river. Legs still a bit sore and tired from Wednesday, so I wasn't expecting a super good session, but was still pretty happy with how hard I was able to push. Kinda cold today - might be the first time I've thought adelaide is cold!!

Just some core work, as my legs and glutes are actually really sore and tired from yesterday :/

Also, I was totally keen for a ride along the river today....but I've kind of neglected my bike for a couple of months and when I went downstairs to get it this morning I discovered the chain is super rusty....whoopsssssss. Didn't go for a ride after I discovered that!

Wooo this was the perfect way to celebrate a truly horrible semester at uni being OVER!!! (final exam was last night, which was a bit rude as I missed watching jwoc!). Feel like I'm going to need the whole holidays to just run and sleep in order to feel recovered and normal again.

Anyway, followed the coach's instructions and went for a long jog/walk (but mostly jog) in cleland. It was sooo nice to get out of the city and it was such a nice day!! Got really really tired for the last 40mins, which was a bit lame as it makes me think i've lost a heap of fitness but OH WELL.
